Sounds like a painful process this coaching search and there isn't a guy in the conversation I would take over Les. Happy to have him and hope he coaches here until he retires.

Coaching searches are painful, stressful, and exciting at the same time. More often than not the fans are disappointed in the results and they almost never hire the rockstar that everyone wants or thinks is a sure thing.

Be happy that we have stability because that usually leads to success in the long run.

It's not like he was going anywhere.

I tend to agree with those who say Miles did very well considering the tough schedule and the loss of many key players.

Another important fact, Miles is one of only three coaches across the country that gets enormous media coverage. The top three whom the media fancied use to be Lucky Nick, Les Miles, and Lane K., now Brian Kelly has overtaken Lane.

It all depends on the school. LSU would be much more attractive than AU, Arky, and TN right now. Sometimes a coaching search works out quite well even after a school is turned down. Remember everyone laughing when Rich Rod backed out of the Alabama offer? They wound up getting Saban.

I'd like to know exactly what Les and Long discussed. Heard some concerning details thru an Arky source.

While he sometimes frustrates me beyond words, and his offense is too often vanilla-boring-predictable, I totally agree. He is LSU's coach, for good or for not as good, and I'm glad he's with us.
