Yeah, this is bull shite. I understand if the person is trying to misrepresent herself, was she? I have fatigues that my uncle, who is a Colonel in the Army, gave me. I'll wear them out shooting or hunting sometimes...they have his rank, name, etc on them. He said it's fine to wear as long as I don't misrepresent myself, which I never would... I find it hard to believe a kid working at old Navy would misrepresent herself. Sounds like he may be a little uptight.

Not really. I've known a few boys that did that. Most of the time they were the ones with medals on the jacket. The ones who do it as a fashion statement rarely have the medals to go along with the top.
If you read the story, that was not the case...hence, you were reaching.

but it was just a job.
They actually told you that? Did they fight in a war or did they do their time in peace?

I'm going to guess that he was banned for being a hell of a lot more of a nuisance than just politely pointing something out.
Definitely, these joe navy types are the worst kind of uneducated and insecure a-holes you will ever meet.

When you were there and done that did they teach you about reading comprehension when you were there and done that? For fricks sake! It's not about what the kid did, it's about how it was handled after it was addressed.

Grandfather was in Germany for WW2 and later Korea. One Uncle just retired last year as a colonel after 30 years or so. The other Uncle did less time. I don't know the exact amount for either. They participated in all the actions the US has taken in that time period in one way or another. I suppose you view things differently after doing something for 30 years rather than 4,6, or 8.

How exactly do you know how it was addressed? Were you there? Do you really think this guy politely pointed something out and they "banned" him from old navy?

Why do people always seem to take beef with the ENTIRE company and want to boycott them when it's an issue with a SPECIFIC STORE MANAGER. They should be looking for an apology from the store manager, the entire company shouldn't be at fault for what one person did.
It's called accountability. It's part of the real world and business. Deal with it.

Fair enough. I still have a hard time believing that they would be okay with someone that has never been in the Military, wearing Medals that belong to people that did so much for this country and in some cases lost their lives for. My guess is that this is your opinion and not theirs.

For the policies of their stores and the actions/inactions of their personnel. Retail is dependent on image. Thus, instances such as the one here is one every retailer hopes to avoid: pissing off and ostracizing an entire focus group/demographic.

Tell me, like you were there...what actions and inactions do you take offense to? the reason i ask is because I hope if you try typing out the answers you will realize how trivial and silly It is to be pissed off in the slightest by this. Simply put, you were not there, you don't know what happened. How do you know what he may have said to the girl or the manager? How do you know he wasn't making a scene? Are you really just going to take the word of one pissed off redneck?
