Agreed. I'm pretty sure "Pels" will be the name used in "chants" or what the frick ever in the Arena. Three syllables is too bulky . . . imo,fwiw, etc.

That's a point I've made. There is no reasonable shortening of it and "pelicans" is just an awkward word to use contextually.
Look, I get that it's the state bird. I personally have no issue with pelicans as a species, but that's beside the point. It just doesn't work, in my opinion, as a team name for several reasons.

Does this mean, if Charlotte gets the name back, you will no longer support the team in New Orleans and become a fan of the Charlotte Bobcat/Hornets?

I'm unsure if you truely hate the new name or just trolling b/c you like the attention your negativity is bringing
Trust me, I'm not a fan of the change at all, but at some point you just have to accept it. All the ones complaining will at some point conform like the rest of us :(
