People just don't seem to be aware that those laws were created out of social necessity. And now that we see people living these lives of "sin", we start to see the manifestations of why "religious figures"(wise men), made those laws/social dogma.
What we have here now is a bunch of people running stop signs, "because there is no cop watching". The "don't run stop sign law" wasn't about so that you don't get punished, it was so that you don't hurt yourself or someone else.......
and there's people like you NoHo, you roll through the stop sign while looking both ways, and say "see no one got hurt"

Which is why when one is caught they are punished, i.e. ticketed. People seek to avoid punishment for themselves not do avoid danger or harm to others.

I actually drive like a grandma. I'm one of the few people in L.A. who actually stops at stop signs, uses turn signals, and drives with my lights on at night.

But you are talking specifically about "sin" which has no meaning outside religion. Religions say that premarital sex is a sin. Why is it a sin? Why is it wrong? It's a way to control people and sexual behavior.

but that's the issue. Unwise people can't see the harm til it's too late. It not about control, it's about the best chance of success/happiness.
we have laws to "protect" naive 15y/o girls from being sexually abused, naive 18 y/o girls are on their own.

Only if someone is religious. For those who are not, you need to come up with an alternate plan. Education is best. If someone has the capability and makes poor choices, then that's on them. Big Brother doesn't need to protect everyone and tell them what to think
