Used it a while back. They search the internet for job postings, and find what you want and where you want it. Sort of Google for jobs. I went on a couple of interviews, none of which paid me a decent salary, and decided to stick with what I was doing.

First off, you need to come out of the closet and be gay. Secondly, try an RSS service for craigslist and indeed. However, one of your biggest issues is relocation. It is my experience that not living in the area, or recently relocating to the area makes an applicant a less than stellar choice for hiring personnel. "Moving to Atlanta for a few years" = not a serious candidate. Another thing you may want to do is look for larger corporate businesses there in NOLA that also have locations in/around ATL.

I have never trusted indeed, is it a legit website? I feel like they just post second tier jobs. I will probably just try and find a recruiter.
Is this a joke? You're a candidate for a masters degree and 1) are skeptical of the highest rated job search engine and 2) don't have the wherewithal to search for these kinds of things. I'll tell you one thing: it's a frick of a lot better than an LSU message board. Do you have a Linkedin profile? In this economy a recruiter can't work miracles for someone with no experience. Good luck "consulting" Another thing: if you think oil is in your future, why go to the one large southern city with no oil business? Houston and Dallas are booming too.

I'm going to try and get as much experience as possible that will transfer into the oil and gas industry for when I move back to La.
If you want to settle in LA, stay in LA.
