There were no murders before guns were invented. True story.

Murder is outlawed. Why is our homicide rate higher than in comparable industrialized countries with stricter gun laws. My belief is that it is because we have easier access to guns. But I'd like to understand you're thinking as to why the United States is more homicide prone?

So you disagree with him. America's a great country in that way. Oh yeah, I forgot, it's the liberal media that hates America and is trying to support the effort to undermine our rights, take our guns, and take our money and give it to Negroes and Hispanics. My bad.

That costas segment was pretty inappropriate for half time of a football game. It was also insensitive to make a political statement like that from what happened. How do you not see that?

Truth be told, I didn't even watch it. I just get amused when TD posters get their drawers in a wad because someone in the media or entertainment says something about guns, race, abortion or what the frick ever. I love the board, but the general political sentiment here is not really that of the nation as a whole AND a lot of posters seem to have a hyper-sensitivity to anything they thinkis slightly left of what they consider to be the center which is, in fact, pretty far to the right. I sort of rambled, but you catch my drift.

I suppose the stupidity of the statement went over your head? Or did you not get that far. He is entitled to say whatever he wants, but when you say something that monumentally stupid on national tv, as some kind of political statement you have to expect some backlash.

Not to mention, the day after the event occurred.

Never let an opportunity go to waste, no matter how sensitive it is. VOR is a champion of PC, he will be on Mr Costas in a minute.

Unreal. The liberal media just tried to politicize this during a fricking halftime segment.
So Bob Costas, one guy, making some comment about guns (I still don't know what he said, but that's not the point) is somehow reflective of the "liberal media". Youse guys is nutso.

We should outlaw the right to own cars. Pretty sure they kill more than guns.

Bob Costas is one sports commentator (a very good one, by the way) on one network. So?

Well, Costas seems to think both would be alive today if it weren't for the proliferation of handguns. Goes to show you how out of touch with reality some of these folks can be.

That's bull shite. First of all, PC is a meaningless term if you really think about it. It can mean anything or nothing at all. Eye of the beholder and all that shite. And, again, what exactly did Costas say? That it's too easy to get handguns and that the two of them may be alive if not for that fact? BFD. Why does that even bother people?

Actually it means "not correct". Something is either correct or it isn't. If it isn't correct, occasionally folks will try to use the term "politically correct" to justify their incorrect position.

C'mon man, don't give up now... Yeah it's pretty meaningless since it's not used consistently across the board. The PC card is usually displayed at a time of convenience and unilateral benefit.
