Waiting too long to kick Perriloux off the team and having to rely on an ill prepared underclassman set everything in motion.

1. Lee came out and was high risk high reward. We scored ALOT but gave up alot. Lee is benched and his confidence is crushed.
2. In 2009-2010 we stick with Jefferson because Miles wants to play safe low risk football. Our offense sucks.
3. Lee starts in 2011 after the Shady's fiasco while Jefferson is off the team. Lee is the top rated passer in the SEC, LSU looks fantastic and Mettenberger is getting actual playing time.
4. Jefferson returns, Lee is benched and Mett never sees the field again while all the playing time is split between...two seniors??
5. 2012: It takes Mett a few games of live action before the switch turns on. Here's the problem, we had already lost to FLA in a DISMAL offensive game.

Basically, how Miles handled RP set in motion a series of events leading to Mett being inexperienced this year costing us a title.

Discuss.

True. Hate to say it but I wish JJ would have just never come back. I really do try not to put all of 1/9 on him but he was just so so bad.

I'll never understand why Miles felt the need to play Seniors all season last season.

you could argue it was the hiring of Doug Mallory and Bradley Dale Peveto as co-defensive coordinators

that 2008 defense was one of the worst LSU has ever had. give Jarrett Lee a good defense to back him up, he doesnt have to throw as much, he doesnt throw as many picks, he likely keeps confidence and gets better

except there was no good reason to ever kick Perriloux off the team to begin with.

i like Miles, I really do, but how in the frick do you kick Perriloux and HB7 off the team BUT NOT JORDAN. all 3 had the same sort of issues but all jordan was a catastrophe, RP and HB7 were awesome. you think bama would ever kick those two off because of weed?

pretty sure Perrilloux had a lot more going on than just smoking weed, Mathieu too

and I hate Jefferson as much as anyone, but let's be honest, that shady's incident was pretty much complete bullshite and he was targeted by police

If RP would've been upfront with coaches about leaving campus to go to funeral, everything would have been fine. He lied too much and Miles sent him packing

Knowing what I know now, Jefferson was guilty of doing what he was accused of

SHORTCOMINGS??? Lets see, it's all because LM didn't kick RP off the team earlier??? So instead of trying to get him to mature he should if just tossed him. I think he kicked him off when RP finally proved he wasn't mature enough to handle the position. Exactly when should he have kicked RP off the team--the season prior? A month prior?

Granted the no exp at QB caused problems, bu we also installed a new offense in '08. Crowton ran Jimbo's offense in '07. Plus Pelini left that year as well so in essence we had a new offensive scheme and had Les not opted for the co-DCs in '08 we would have been imementing a new O and D in 08. The co-DC decision was actually the least disruptive option, but there was a talent drop on D in '08. Had Les not pulled the co-DC there would be no Chief on the sideline today. Ever thing Les did what he did because the right DC wasn't out there at the time. He talks stupid---He isn't stupid.

2009 O sucked. Crowton was always overrated IMO and his O was too complicated for the QB he had.

Anyway, back to the "SHORTCOMINGS" we have gone 23-3 over the past 2 seasons. We have lost #2 in the NCG, we lost (but dominated) #1 this year and we lost to current #4 when we had an inexperienced QB and a bangs up O-line.

I get it..BAMA is the yardstick becuz they have the crystal, but don't be silly. Winning consistently is hard, and regardless of 'how'.....LSU has won quite a lot over the past 8 years and the team remains in good hands.

How can I refute fiction?

You have no idea what you are talking about. I knew people who were actually at both major incidents.

While I agree with almost everything you posted, Miles biggest shortcoming is his misplaced loyalty to a few

Loyal to Malveto
Loyal to RP
Loyal to JJ

All fiascos.

But a kid like Lee who stuck with him, and probably saved his job in '10 by beating TN and Fla, and the his stunning play in '11 gets us a top ranking; gets no loyalty
