He is a top five QB. No doubt about that, this year anyway. Last year Brees and Aaron Rodgers were the best in my opinion.

The first 6 six games of the season were filled with an inconsistent run game. As soon as Vitt came back and Kromer went back to just coaching the O-line/run game coordinator, you saw a huge difference. Hate to focus a lot of this answer on the entire offense here but this season it is totally necessary to do so. You had an unbalance in the coaching staff start out then things picked up for awhile. These last two games injuries on the O-line have cost the Saints and Brees dearly.

The pass blocking hasn't been as good this year either. Brees does force some throws though and it drives me crazy, sorry. I think its fair to say he still belongs to be called an elite QB though.

You don't think Manning is falling off? You think he is as good as he was in Indy?

he's going to win MVP this season and is still elite

he's on pace to have the 3rd highest QB rating of his career, low interception count for his career, above average TD's for his career, and an above average completion % for his career.

So if Brees falling off in the future means that he'll play better than the best part of his career, i'll take it

Is this the only game he has been less than stellar this season?

Brees was already ranked near the bottom of all QBs in the 4th quarter this season prior to this game.

Records should be secondary to winning games. Brees used leverage as a leader, "coach" on the field, and brilliant offensive mind to hold out longer and get more money. Not looking so great without Sean Payton.

You hold out like he did and get the money, especially the upfront and guaranteed, he is getting then my feeling is he shouldn't be cut much slack and he is held accountable to perform at a higher level... on par with being the highest paid player (real money) in the entire NFL.

Those who worship Brees, make excuses for him, and defend him no matter what will not like my post one bit.

You're pathetic. You are the one reaching. OMG nooooz a bad team season.. yet a season under incredible circumstances and the Saints can still get to 9-7.. and still in the wildcard hunt whether it's likely or not.

It was not Brees' fault for the 0-4 start. The defense was beyond horrid. 2 of those games were directly affected by horrific replacement officiating. Period.

The Saints are coming off a 13-3 season and now looking to be 8-8ish under incredible circumstances.. possibly 9-7.. That's pretty remarkable.. Especially given I truly believe the Saints win 2 of their first 4 with regular officiating. Believe as you wish. I've watched every single snap all season long.

Brees is probably still close to the top of every QB stat in the league.

So you label us true fans worshippers, because we believe in our guy? Because we make reasoning and rational? Get over it.

No, you have no reasoning and rationale. Your post is full of excuses. He has Not been an elite QB so far this season overall. He is Not playing up to the level of his pay. You know who would agree with that 100%? Drew Brees, that's who. That I can respect. Delusional Brees worshippers intolerant of any opinion other than blissful ignornace, I find pathetic.

What part of he's done this before and bounced back do you not understand?

Also do I need to bring stats to the table? Just 2 weeks ago Brees was getting some slight MVP talk. Don't deny that, because he was.

Okay you want to hear excuses? The Saints were thin on the line and they were up against the best defense in the NFL. There is no shame in losing to the Niners. None.. but that is right Brees' pick 6 before the half sealed the deal. No doubt. Terrible stuff..

But then the Saints travel on a short week to Atlanta against a divisional 9-1 team they already beat.. and the Saints genuinely outplay the Falcons. Especially on 3rd down and total yardage. Saints receiving dropped the ball on 3 TD plays. shite happens. You call it excuses. I call it football and bad breaks. shite happens.

Peyton Manning was 24/37 with 241 yard, 3 INTS against this falcons team. He got the 1 passing TD. Brees should have 3, and threw for 341.

Lost in all this is how Ryan was 18 for 33 (against the saints) only 165 yards 1 td. To me that is shittier than Brees 5 interceptions.

Matt Ryan also had similar stats to Brees against the Cardinals. 28/46 301 yards and 5 INTS 0 TDs.. His team got the break to get the win, we unfortunately did not and have not. It happens.

The shite happens. Like I said. Enjoy it while you can.. because it's brief.

If you still fail to see Brees as an elite QB in the NFL then you clearly have an agenda against him or the Saints.

BTW when I say dropped the ball. I don't mean physically drop the ball. I mean they blow the play up on their own on all 3 potential TDs.

Enjoy your douchery tho while you can. Soon enough you will not be heard of around these parts. I guarantee that much.

Brees may lead the NFL in INTS.. but keep in mind it's coming off a 5 int losing effort and the rest of the teams have yet to play this weekend.

Also keep in mind your boy Ryan is only 3 ints behind him.

Also keep in mind that just last season

2011 - Brees lead the entire NFL in Passing Yards, TDs, and completion perecentage.

That was coming off a high interception year in

2010 - Brees was 2nd in interceptions with 22.

Like I said.. We've been here before and seen it. You fail to see it. You literally have yet to even defend your stance. You are simply a hater who will be gone with soon enough.

Also keep in mind that Brees QB rating is still higher right now in 2012 than it was in 2010.

Guess who was #1 in interceptions the NFL in 2010..?

Eli Manning lead the league in INTS in 2010.

Guess who went to the playoffs and won a Superbowl the following year with a 9-7 record?

Eli Manning.

This is so fricking fun. Check this. Brees right now still has the same QB rating as 2x Superbowl champ Eli Manning of last year.

Brees is coming off one of the best Quarterbacking seasons of ALL time, has his team in position to still go 9-7 under extraordinary conditions, possibly a winning record with an outside shot at a Superbowl.. People forget that the Giants had a 4 game losing streak last year and they were literally 1 DeSean Jackson punt return TD from even making the Playoffs.. and what do you know.. Brees gets to face the Giants. The same Giants who admitted they dodged a bullet last season not facing New Orleans. 1 defensive stand from being the 2x Superbowl Champ, but still have a shot this week coming up to put together a winning record and outside shot of playoffs.

Drew Brees

Still elite, but he definitely hasn't been top 3 this season. Maybe not even top 5. The big three of Peyton, Rodgers, and Brady have all been much better

Much better...maybe currently as in the last 2 games but I think you are forgetting that each of those 3 have struggled at various points in the season. Look at Rodgers last week against the Giants for example.

That said I've got no problem saying they are top 3, but Drew isnt in the top 5? Who else is ahead of him.? I'm assuming you are putting RGthresus up there but who else?
