What are your thoughts on Ryan and the Falcons?
I'm not "sold" (like most of the country), and last night was a perfect example of why.
Ryan played poorly, whether him or OL or scheming is debatable. And against a defense that is mediocre at best.

I would also like to see what non Saints and Falcons fans think of him. But seeing as how this is an LSU/Louisiana website, you wont get many of them.

I agree, I think ATL is posing again! I'm not a Saints fan, this is just an observation.
I would favor New York,San Fran and Green Bay in the G-Dome as of today

I think they play a weak schedule. They've only played two teams with a winning record (Denver, Tampa), and only have two teams left on the schedule with a winning record (NYG, Tampa). A good number of their opponents aren't likely to finish with a winning record either.
If they played Denver now, it'd be a different ball game.

I would put them below SF and Chicago at this point, without question.

I would take a healthy Chi (with Cutler), GB, NYG, and SF over Atl, IMO.

As a Pats fan, I'm not sold on Ryan at all. He has two elite WR's, a great TE and a solid defense to back him up. He should be putting up crazy numbers, but isn't.

I'm not sold on him until he does it in the playoffs.
They are playing poorly as always in the regular season, but I still feel pretty good about my "Giants to win the Superbowl at 25-1" ticket.

I've never been sold on Ryan. Until he does something in the playoffs, he'll continue to be just meh to me.
Eta... And as far as the Falcons go, I think that are one of the top 3 teams in the NFC, but I don't think they are as good as their record indicates.

I'm not sold, but I don't think there's a legitimately great team in the NFL, so they have just as good of a chance as anybody. I'm still trying to figure out how the Ravens are crushing their division despite being worse than they've been the last 3 or 4 years.

They look like a classic 13-3 team that will lose in the first round of the playoffs.

They're good. They do seem kinda squishy though. Would not mind a matchup with them in January. I would be much more scared of the Giants or Packers.
They get a mulligan for the Thursday night slopfest but viewing them as a fan of another conference contender, unless they're firing on all cylinders, they are very beatable. ATL doesn't get to the SB without 2 great postseason performances IMO.

I think they have the talent to do something, but I honestly am not sure if I trust the coaches. Smith gets all rilled up and makes some stupid calls sometimes. Couple that with the Offensive play calling last night. The first drive they GASHED the saints running the ball. From then on, they kept tryin to get the passing game going. It was sort of confusing.

They're a solid team, but I could just as easily see them dropping one to someone they shouldn't in the playoffs. They've come pretty close to doing that a few times.

Ryan is an above avg QB he hasn't reached elite status but he has improved each year and Falcons continue to add playmakers around him.
With Ryan The Falcons will be a contender each year and challenge the Saints. People can point to playoffs all they want but all it takes is 1 run to wipe those comments away and Ryan is still young and good enough to lead the Falcons to a Super Bowl.

granted I am a Saints fan
but in the truest way I can I try and look at other teams honestly
I have not and cannot really see what others see in Matt Ryan. I don't feel he has the arm nor the mind to lead a team thru the jungle to get a Super Bowl Trophy.
I understand the stats and numbers are solid. But watching him and his eyes and his body language, he comes across as the guy who has everything needed except IT
good guy, seems like a really likeable person. But I would have zero belief if he was QB for my team that they were going anywhere.

No clue. They look explosive at times then crawl into a shell at other times. They should have lost last night and have been banking on winning very close games the entire season.
Can look at that two ways, they will be ready for the playoffs when close games are a given, or they are extremely lucky. TBA.
Ryan, however, isn't an elite QB, IMO. He has elite WR and a great TE but he's too inconsistent. I figured he'd regress some after the torrid start. He's just not a Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Peyton type and I'd rather have Big Ben, Stafford, Luck, Eli, etc.

frickin hate em. Could only hate more if Vick still played there.

I think he is servicable and that the Falcons are worse than the Giants, Packers, and the 49ers
