explain? Applying fiscal conservatism: If you reduce government involvement in college tuition, you would remove/reduce government guaranteed loans as well. less available loans=less debt Fewer loans and government subsidies of tuition would drive down the tuition. Would result in fewer kids going to college. Which could be good. To quote an old AA slogan: "it works, if you work it." In this case fiscal conservatism and free market economics. Sadly, nobody is working it.

OLD NEWS! They snuck that into a bill last at the end of 2011 and TOLD NOBODY! NOT one media source I saw did a story on it until it was long done. I didn't find out until 2 weeks before this semester started, months after I was awarded. It dicked me over so hard. I've been paying out of state tuition for years, took my time off, worked 3 jobs, finally got my residency, and should have been 12 hours from getting the paper and on with life. My school did a degree review and decided they had to have more of my $, and f'd me on 24 hours I'd already gotten transfer credit on. Of course I didn't get my little email until after I had already quit my jobs, shut down my side biz, and moved back to where the main campus is. I can't take loans anymore either, I maxed out b/c of the out of state costs. Being a non-traditional student scholarships are a hopeless dream, and I have a honors college level GPA. The group it hurts the worst are adults who change careers or have to because of layoffs. You only get so many semesters in your entire life now, so going back to school and furthering education becomes further out of reach for working people that can't afford the college costs out of pocket. Was a very shady way they did it, and a big reason I didn't vote. It sped up me starting a business, because I have to, and hopefully I can blow it up and not worry about being able to pay tuition again... likely because I just won't finish, I'm already in multiple markets and it won't slow down anytime soon.

Didn't vote don't give a frick. Couldn't care less, I'll be doing everything in my power to lessen my tax burdens in the future. Loopholes are a wonderful thing.
