Tennessee 2005 ring a bell?

That Tennessee game is the moment Miles lost me. We were up 21-0 at half and he came out in the 3rd quarter immediately playing not to lose instead of playing to win. I knew right then and there that his total lack of a killer instinct was the opposite of everything I like in a coach and have not liked him ever since.

A dick he may be but at 5.3 million a year he does what he is paid to do, his job. He is not there to be friends with everyone. He is there to win titles and that is exactly what he is doing.
Remove the part about being a dick and this could just as easily be about Miles.

which of those two games were more important to their respective seasons.

Bama had already lost 2 games before they played auburn that year

Lsu's only regular season loss in 2005 was to Tennessee

That statement proves you don't know what you are talking about.

Saban has 3 BCS championships, which is light years better than 1 BCS championship. And in about a month he will have 4 BCS championships.

He is at least competing for his 4th

Miles lsu squad is not

3/4 years with bama winning the championship is just too much to take

yeah i usually like to pre-judge people before i really know who they are too. i also like to give book reviews 10 pages in and judge a meal by the salad.

this type of thinking is scary, and it gets scarier when it extends beyond sports.

I don't think any of realized how important the '05 UT game was at the time. Had we won that one, I think we would have gotten lots of love from pollsters and been 1 or 2 instead of 3 going into the SECCG.

That said, I think '05 was a great job by Miles. Saban would have imploded with all of the distractions interfering with the process. Besides, if Jamarcus doesn't throw away the chip shot field goal at the end of the first half, we aren't in OT anyway.

Get off of our board. We can't post in yours. Keep your arse on the SECr or the Bama board.

Would not like Miles to be like Saban BUT I would like for Miles to hire a true OC that can bring the offense up to the playing level of the defense and who can develop and improve QB play.

We would all like a new OC. That's got shite to do with the thread though.

Miles Mania is here to stay.

If anyone can't enjoy our success because they don't like the head coach's personality that happens to be different from his predecessor, they need to be marginalized in society

I think he may have been distracted because Fats fricking Domino was sleeping on his couch that week...

That team had EVERY reason to quit that year...still an absolutely amazing season in retrospect.
