With three schools leaving for CUSA, the Sun Belt has only 8 football schools left
What is the future of the Conference? What schools are potential additions?

2 schools I would assume that might get approached to make the move are Stephen F Austin and Sam Houston State.

App State could possible be added ... Great Football program, solid baseball, and so-so basketball.

They approached Missouri St a few years ago about moving up to the Sunbelt but were rebuffed. They should pursue that again.
App St would be another good add.
What if they went crazy progressive and were the first 1A conference to have an HBCU member?

You have to find one that can pass the NCAA's inspection process to make that move along with having the resources to improve facilities and scholarships to meet the higher standards.
Florida A&M tried that around a decade ago and ended up getting smacked around pretty hard by the NCAA because of things turned up while checking the books, such as improper documentation on athletes' eligibility.

Which one would they add?

A couple teams might be moving to the big east.

Disappointing to see this, especially after the great year they had.

Absolutely no clue. I would hope that there would be at least one that is not as dysfunctional as our local reprentative on the Bluff.
I thought about FAMU until I remembered all the stuff previously posted. I don't have a clue, just throwing ideas against the wall.

I could see a Stetson or some Florida school since they've lost Florida with FIU and FAU gone.

Ever heard of the Southland conference?

The Sun Belt is what it is. And ULL is what it is. It's a small school, in a small state, in a small city with a small ath budget. But ULL fans didnt realize one thing...THAT'S OK!!!!!!
They tried to be someone they're not. Instead of maximizing their assets, they tried to minimize their liabilities...that coupled with piss poor school administration.
The school should have NEVER went with the name change shite, stayed in IAA, dominated, competitive in the FCS and be happy. But no...
I know I pick on you guys but I am close friends with two of your biggest boosters, I work with em, play with em and love em to death and have had this conversation with em a million times
But hey, keep banging your head against the wall. Yall hate everyone else in the state so bad it clouds your decision making and portrays where your at today. /rant

maybe they should start UNO's football team now

In the same vein of Appy State, Georgia Southern would be another solid addition.

Lafayette parish is 224,000 people
Birmingham al is 242,000 people
ULL enrollment is approx 17,000
Ole Miss is approx 16,800
SLI/USL/ULL has never been 1AA

SBC is going to keep adding startups until it dies. UL and Troy will be the last two hanging on. Us because we're led by incompetence, Troy because no one wants their academic shitshow

so your saying ulm will jump to another conference before ull will? watch out tech here we come.

Forgot about ULM. I love you guys, but y'all are entrenched in more incompetent shite than we are.
