A team who will not make the playoffs plays the waiver wire with one more regular season game left.

Fair or foul?

I think it is clearly fair..... and yes I'm the playoff ineligible team who picked a guy up. Someone got pissed off.

just don't play it in the playoffs, pretty gay if you ask me. Regular season is fine cause you can upset someone who could make the playoffs.

Definitely. While I could I wouldn't. Usually if I don't make the playoffs or get bounced early I just pick up guys nobody would ever pick up for fun....while not dropping anyone teams could use.

It's fair . They can still impact the playoff race. They pay money, they should be able to play until the end. Now once the playoffs start they need to be cut off

Why not play waiver wire for points?
I know a few leagues (mine with friends) awards person who finishes with top over all points as well as winner. Sometimes due to bad luck top overall points leader may not make playoffs

We lock teams from adding and dropping when they are mathematically out of the running for e playoffs. By then most of them have given up on their team anyway and any waiver add wouldn't help their chances of winning their matchup.

Fair, especially in a league like the one I'm in.

We get payouts for weekly payouts, also the last place team will have some kind of penalty.

Some of you guys' stories about fantasy football leagues are hilarious. What kind of person takes fantasy football so serious that they would get mad at you playing until the end? Obviously once you are eliminated, your team should be locked but damn your friend sounds like a great guy.

The hell it should. Even when a team is eliminated, they should continue to put the best possible team on the "fantasy field". The teams that faced this eliminated team earlier in the season had to beat that team's best. Why should a team that plays them once they are mathematically eliminated get a free pass?

How do you lock the waiver wire for non-playoff teams in ESPN leagues?

That's not what I meant. I meant once the playoffs start, the teams not in should be locked.

we have two divisions in each league and a few teams are tied. Some of the non playoff teams will impact which teams will get in this week.
Play to the end whether you have a first round bye or are sitting in last place IMO

Playoffs start next week. Just trying to win my last regular season game...finish second to last instead of last

In our league anyone that is mathmatically eliminated from making playoffs is no longer allowed to trade or drop players. I don't think there is a "setting" for this, its just monitored by the league manager. If any move is made he can just veto it or add the player back to the roster.

I know, I worded my response wrong. Until the playoffs start, every team should do what they can to win. My point was to play until the playoffs start and your team is eliminated and locked for good. I applaud your persistence.

This is beyond stupid. So you can't even finish the season you signed up for, awesome.
