Its no secret Arkansas has been targeting Patterson.

Why is it hard to believe that Arkansas has an offer to Patterson for 27 million and George Bass leaked that the offer was to Les Miles to try and force LSU into going ahead with the contract ext.

And why would Bass admit he leaked bad info?

Long isn't going to call out Les's agent because he's Patterson's agent too.

Long should have let it play out like it did because if he made a comment that he never made the offer and never had an intention of doing so would guarantee that agent will steer all of his prospects away from Long.

Bass could leak the info without the fear Arkansas would deny it due to us being in negotiations with him for Patterson.

Bass used Arkansas and LSU to get paid. How much money did Bass make off the extension?

Anybody that believes a word that comes out of Les Miles mouth at a press conference has never paid attention to Les Miles pressed. He'll say on a Wednesday that he expects Player A to be healthy and start on Saturday, then that very same player won't even make road trip.

Dude still hasn't admitted that Tyrann Mathieu, Spencer Ware, and Therald Simon were suspended from the 2011 Auburn game.

All this will fall on deaf ears, the LSU posters in this thread are HV level, at best.

LSU fans are mad Les wasn't good enough for an offer from Arkansas, yet he is getting a big fat raise anyway.

The delusional part is to think that Jeff Long offered Les Miles the job. I love Arkansas, but no one in their right mind would make that move. You don't go from number two where you don't have to recruit to number three where you have to recruit you butt off to compete with one and two. Just don't do it. Long knows this. He's not stupid. There will be no coach announced until next week. Now, no one is talking about Patterson, Petersen, or Gundy. Mission accomplished. It's really that simple. He got an old friend a raise to boot. You folks are as delusional as anyone I have seen on the internets.

That's all saving face. This isn't new folks. People always help cover and say it wasn't offered when they get turned down.

Doubly embarrassing for Arkansas b/c this offer was to Miles. This damage control is helping to prevent suicides in Arkansas

The suicides would have happened if Miles had been hired.

No matter what happens from here, we know that Arkansas had Miles as their first choice.

The talk all along about the Arkansas coaching search was that they had their man. Either that has come and gone and they are now working their way down their list after being rejected...OR...they really were starting from square 1 in the last week or so and are moving down the list.

Either way, my guess is that Arkansas fans are very worried about where this is going to end.

I love how message board people draw all these conclusions. I'll take what Les said today as truth and move on. No need to worry about anything till we rehire JLS.

Cause it would mean that Miles would have to live in Arkansas?
