However, for a business as established as Jones Creek Cafe for instance, shame on them.

I agree. I haven't been in some time, but if I remember correctly, at one point he wasn't charging ATM fees?

Wasn't Jones Creek Cafe one of the businesses in Baton Rouge that was ripped off by an identity theft ring a few years ago? Some scammers got a bunch of credit card numbers from their registers. I used my debit card at another restaurant around that same time and someone stole my numbers and went on a shopping spree at a Wal-Mart in suburban Atlanta. That may be why they don't take credit cards anymore.
I was in San Francisco for my honeymoon a few weeks ago and I was amazed how many places there didn't take credit cards.
