Could Les Miles Become the Most Hated Man in Baton Rouge?

Yes this thread has somewhat to do with Nick Saban.
Saban left on decent terms (F Iowa). We all understood that the NFL was calling and we were happy for him. It's his return and dominance we couldn't/can't stand.
But this thing with Les Miles and Arkansas? A portion of the fan base already doesn't like him and hold this notion that he is a failure/is wasting talent.
If Miles were to make a direct jump to Fayetteville it would be strictly for money and a smack in the face. I don't think him leaving would be as bad as Saban mainly because Arkansas won't be nearly as good. However, I can definitely see him become the most hated man in Baton Rouge.
Edit:
I guess it has a lot more to do with Saban being a douche at heart and Les genuinely being a likeable person.
Other than that, Im starting to sense a double standard on the money issue. We call Nick a money hungry whore, what does that make Les if he bolts?

I'd say 33% of the fanbase would actually be happy. The other 67% would be happy with a home run hire.
And when we beat Ar-Kansas 56-0 next year.

You're kidding right? The fact is everyone was pretty pissed at Saban. He played us, lied to us the whole time while interviewing with the Dolphins, and kept LSU in the dark very late in the coaching search game. We got lucky and got a good coach, but we were totally screwed as to having our choice of new coaches.

If you didn't think Saban was going to make the jump to the NFL at some point, you were beyond naive.

People hate Saban because he now coaches at Bama. He was eventually leaving anyway, he brought us a national title.
And he left in December, that's not that late in the process.

IF I'm not mistaken, we (the fans and the team) found out on Christmas Day after repeated denials that he wasn't going to be the Fins coach.

This + a million
I have absolutely no issue with how Saban left LSU.

I imagine the next coach will be the most hated man in BR. He will have some lofty, unrealistic expectations to live up to.

No, why? I'm not crazy about Les but I respect the man as a coach and father. I'm thankful what Les brought us, I wouldn't blame the man for bolting. We as a fan base are hard to please.

Give Saban a pat on the arse and a so long old boy and tell Les don't let the door hit you on the arse.
You people are fricking ridiculous.

If Saban hadnt dicked us around we coulda hired spurrier and had a real coach.

There would have been a damn lot more done with Ole ball coach.

Disagree on Saban's departure.
Maybe it was only a matter of time before he left, but when he decided to go he did so in a pretty shitty way. He strung us along and told untruths the whole way. Then on Christmas we find out he's gone and phoned in the bowl game. I still remember the halftime interview with him when we played Iowa. He sounded disinterested and wasn't subtle at all about it.
Screw Saban.
If Miles decides to go somewhere else one day, I guarantee you he will handle the whole situation way better than Saban.

I found out on my way to the cap one bowl from my hotel.
And I'd deny before then too... I would want the full attention of my team.

That's what I took it as.

quote:. Why? All he'd have to do is run a decent offense, keep Chavis and win 10 games a year. Not that hard at LSU. Our only real tough games are AtM and Bama.
