Went ahead and bought the H80 (refurb) off of newegg since it was only $69.99. Did some research and saw that the H100 isn't worth the $40 extra. Now I have to wait to get my 7970

The reason they perform about the same is because the pump sucks, but the H100 does out perform because it has a greater surface area. For your needs, a H80 is still an awesome and much quieter choice. I wish I would have gone the closed loop Corsair way instead of this damn custom loop.

Cooler Master has some good deals today. They had the V6 for $17.99 but it sold out quickly. Too bad the V10 is so cumbersome because it's $100 off. LINK /

From my experience the Gemini and Hyper series are the only ones worth wild. Those V6/V8/V10 things actually don't outperform the Hyper 212/612s. They also look sort of ridiculous. NewEgg has a shell shocker coming up for a pretty good cooler. I owned 1 before going with a custom loop and it was great, just a little loud but I did have it running hard on my controller. Last time I seen them sell for $29.99 in a Shell Shocker, retail is like $70. LINK

but for $18bucks (if FREE shipping) that is still a great price for an after market cooler.

Yea, for $18 I was going to grab it just to have as a spare or in case I did a cheap build for someone but it sold out as fast as it went up. I actually ordered a Zalman cooler a while back for my new build I am working on.

Yea actually is a pretty nice cooler. Kept my temps down even @ a modest OC.

I have the v6 gt cooler and that bad boy is big, but its basically a hyper 212 with an extra fan on it. The v10 just looks like it would be a pain in the arse to work with. Also heard that at its normal price its a complete waste of money since it has a worse cooler than on the v6. Its just so expensive because it has a ram cooler on it (pointless much?)

I have seen the blue version priced at $29.99 not to long ago. ETA: It was also under a shell shocker.

I can't imagine trying to fit that V10 in a case with my drive bays in the way.

I have never seen a build on any forum or site with a CM V10 cooler. None I can remember.

Start a build log with a new thread when everything arrives.
