Sullivans is pretty damn expensive

Was in the bar yesterday to get some apps and drinks while watching the game and took a look at the full menu they have for the restaurant. How in the hell do they charge so much money for steak when the meat is not even "prime"? I think the 16oz ribeye is $42. Thats almost as big of a ripoff as Doe's. Im surprised the place survives with there being a Ruth's Chris across the street.
Well I guess having your waitresses look like hookers helps some.

Yeah, it's pretty pricey. We've gone there a few times and sat in the bar area.
I got the cajun grilled tuna which was great but it's so pricey. I was going to get a steak but like you said, the prices for the steaks are insane.
I'd like to try Ruth's Chris but I'm not certain how late they stay open. We drive over from LC and we like to run around campus when we get there. If they stay open until 11, at least on a Fri or Sat, I'd like to give them a try. I've heard nothing but great things about them.
There was one near my house when I lived in Orlando but it's on a road packed with tourist venues. I wasn't about to drive through all that to get to a steakhouse.

didn't a BR radio personality get a blow job at his table in Sullivan's or some shite?

I believe Ruth's is open until 11 on the weekends. At least one of the weekend nights they are.
And yes, jones and I ordered off the bar menu which was OK priced but the side salad from the regular menu was like $9.. The "Sullivan's" cab (basically a step above their house) was $14. Our bar menu food wasn't expensive but mine was outright horrible tasting.
A little secret: I know someone who works there and the $11 burger on their bar menu is the exact same one as the $18 one on their regular menu.

And the $6.00 prime bacon cheeseburger at Flemings will blow Sullivan's out of the water. Go try the bar menu at Flemings. Much better and cheaper. The filet with risotto is great. Better wines by the glass and plenty of cocktail specials. Great happy hour but a lot of them carry over into the evening.

I get the filet. I don't notice a difference between choice and prime on a filet.
Also, they have stone crabs right now.

We brought our daughters with us the last time we went there.
My oldest wanted a filet with bernaise. Waiter said he would take care of it. Sure did. For $40 + bucks.
I guess they don't have a smaller version for children.
Wasn't on my dime (my company's), but ...

will never step foot in that place again... SO and I went about 5 years ago and was served a cold steak after ordering 45 minutes before. The assistant manager offered to microwave it for me.
Manager came out after I told his boy to GTFO and repeatedly offered me a free glass of wine after i told him I wasn't drinking.

The last two visits to Sullivan's were very subpar. The last time we went there my wife ordered a fish dish (in before don't get fish at a steak house) that tasted like it was soaked in clorox to hide the fact that it was starting to turn. They should have done a better job rinsing.
The time before that, the red wine we had ordered was corked. I brought it to their attention and they said it was not and that maybe I just didn't like it. They fell short of suggesting I order a White Zinfandel instead.
I really don't understand how this place stays open.

Because people are stupid as a whole, and they go there to "be seen"..

ringside and the bar is what is keeping that place open .. you can walk in there at 6 on a friday night without reservations and get a table in the less than a half an hour .. people mainly go there to drink and snack on apps in the bar ..
and for those lauding flemings' burger and happy hour .. you are spot on .. it is insane how good that burger is for $6 ..

Bc it's good stuff, and it keeps the degenerates away.

Sullivan's was prob the worst steak experience I've had. Ruth's, Flemings, and Crescent City are all much better
