It wasn't their speed rush though, it was Justin Smith bulldozing Bushrod backwards, like last year, and them coming off a blitz we hadn't accounted for and left unblocked for whatever reason. Individually some players continually got manhandled, and their stunts and blitzes confused us.

Exactly. It was the exact same script as last year. No fancy moves. They just pushed our oline into Brees' lap. The only difference was last year it was Brees who took the pounding. This year he set our WRs up for the beating.

Yet Bushrod and the left side were the ones getting consistently beat.
Who were they matched against?

4th string RT in the game against the best dE in the league on the best Dline in the league on the best defense in the league D only have up 17, if drew just takes the sacks we still win There really is no excuse, and I'm not bashing him. I love drew

Thinking back on the game our tackles weren't really all that bad. Bushrod was worse than our noob off the streets right tackle. Bushrod got shoved back into Brees collapsing the pocket. Brees is more comfortable with space to step into his throws as well all know, he needs the interior of the line to give him space, where as if the tackles give up pressure Brees just slides around the pocket to evade the rush. Today Justin Smith and the LB's behind him stunted and came up the middle pressuring Brees which really killed us. For the most part the Saints handled Aldon Smith's speed rush well. The stunts back to the middle, and LB blitzes are what really killed us. I can't blame this on the tackles, other than Bushrod getting manhandled by Justin Smith again, but rather we weren't ready/prepared enough for their scheme. The players and coaches just weren't as good from execution stand point.
