I was just looking over the schedule and it says we have open weeks the week before and after Alabama. Is this correct?

A week to get ready for Bama, and a week to get our legs back

I don't ever remember having two bye weeks in the regular season. Anybody have a legitimate reason as to why this is?

Must have short memory. Happens when there are 14 weeks in the regular season.
LSU had 2 byes in 2003 & 2008. There will be 2 bye weeks again in 2014 as well.

Memorial Day is as early as it can be with the first Saturday in December being as late as possible.
