No sir! Most emphatically not! That honor goes to Eric Martin in the 1983 Orange Bowl against Nebraska. It wasn't for a TD and it wasn't as acrobatic. But he was in heavy traffic, got hammered, and left one shoe behind. And I have never been prouder of an LSU Tiger. He is the receiver Jarvis Landry reminds me of the most. Martin was 6'-1", 210 lbs, and only a 4.65 40, but boy could he play!

What about Josh Reed's catch vs Tenn.

Yes it is...and that includes Josh Reed's Matrix catch in the back of the endzone against GT in the Peach Bowl. There are a few reasons. It was a huge change of direction to get a hand on the ball, it was a hard thrown but wobbly pass in the back of the endzone while well covered in a crucial part of an SEC game. Reminds me of Calvin Johnson's catch in the UGA/GT game a few years back.

It's certainly Top 5...without question. Only 2 I can think of off the top of my head that were in the same ballpark were the catch Eric Martin made against Nebraska in the Orange Bowl following the 1982 season were he made a flat out diving catch coming across the middle, and his cleat had come off just prior to the dive and you could see the end of his sock dangling around below his toes. Eric Martin just had crazy sick hands. In my mind's eye I remember him completely parallel to the ground and catching it at full extension. The other was Michael Clayton his freshman year in the SEZ of Tiger Stadium...though I don't recall the opponent, maybe someone else will. It was similar to Landry's in that it was a completely one handed dive while being totally covered in the endzone for a TD. I thin k Landry's was better because not only did he make the one handed stab, but he had to completely spin his body the opposite way to even get his hand on it. Anyone remember these?

The best catch in LSU history was the Bluegrass Miracle, IMO. What it lacked in terms of pure, athletic ability it made up for in meaningfulness and drama.

not saying Josh Reed 2000 Peach Bowl was better, but IMO was just as spectacular. I was lucky enough to see both in person. LINK

I was good friends with Eric and remember the catch. Eric had great big hands. Landry does remind me of my friend Eric.

Bowe had a catch in 2005 against Auburn, I think that bounced off him three times while he was on the ground and he caught it. That's the best I've seen live. Landry's was much better though.
