The reason no one respects the vast majority of the religious can basically be summed up in this thread.
There are a few brilliant religious men.. I suspect that they really aren't that religious at all tbh. I believe it's a facade.

But, that doesn't mean there isn't a higher intelligence and a creator to this amazing place.

Again, i'm not a young earth creationist but if you believe in young earth creationism then finding extraterrestrial life won't change that belief.
