And what would you have Israel do?

The U.S. encouraged elections in Palestine with the thought that the people would remove the extremists among them. Instead, Hamas was voted into power in 2006. The militant branch of Hamas then keeps weapons caches and meeting places hidden within the civilian population.

So when terrorists fire 700+ rockets into Israel, what would you have Israel do? The Israeli Air Force dropped leaflets telling civilians to evacuate before they started dropping bombs. This was an attempt to separate combatants from civilians.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Bringing a bunch of Zionist into the middle of Palestine isn't exactly rational. The Zionist also use terror. That is why they are a pariah state. Both sides commit crimes but only one has engaged in a 45 year process of genocide and ethnic cleansing.

War is tough business and that video should make us all think and reflect. It's a shame the Palestinians are being placed in the middle of a proxy war. This is the hand of Iran testing Israel. They (Israel) do come down rather harsh, but Hamas does place civilians around weaponry knowing Israel has to take it out eventually.

There are no winners in this conflict.

RIght and the other has engages in 45 years of terrorism. The only difference is ISrael won a war.

POint out a lie. POint one out. You are a liar. You once said you aren't biased. That is a terrible lie. Sit their and justify to yourself Hamas firing rockets when they know it will bring about the death of several hundred Palestinians. How is that going to work for them? Israel is winning this type of war.

Also did you google earth the Gaza Strip and see all those less densely populated areas? Some are even closer to the border than the cities.

When I see things like this I wonder how deeply the people that continue to live in area like that are psychologically damaged. It boggles the mind.

Suggested reading Son of Hamas by Mosab Hasan Yousef. It is a Christian based book but it details the life of Yousef and how he became Israel's top spy despite his father being a Hamas co-founder.

re: Graphic footage from the ground in Gaza...

That's hard to watch.

I was listening to an Israeli call-in station tonight. Callers were discussing the alleged tactic of perhaps bombing everything to the point where there's little to no resistance or risk for ground troops and that's probably the reason for continual bombing.

One person made the comment that no Israeli soldiers should have to die in this ordeal but at some point they will probably have to go in anyway and some soldiers will likely be killed.

...well who would have thought...?

It takes real bravery to fight from within urban areas hiding from sight in or behind buildings as well. Bravery on the battlefield is an overrated concept. Survival is what matters.

How much bravery does it take to launch rockets in the general direction of your enemy without regard to where the rockets will actually land?

What might those reasons be? I am curious how you define low intensity conflict?

I dont know who is right or wrong(does anyone), but it would be like me hitting mike tyson in the face with a pebble, then complaining when he kicks my ass. At some point its time to give up and move on with what you do have. They are in a battle that they absolutely cannot win.

Exactly. Setting up missle sites next to kindergartens.
Arabs are okay with martyring women, children, mentally handicapped, etc. PR move for the sick bastards.

Didn't clickj the link, at work, but I read yesterday that HAMAS was distributing video of childern/civilians getting killed, and it was actually footage from Syria in their civil war.....

Hamas knows them some propaganda too... all governments use it.

and purposefully attacking with civilians around is one of their major tactics. Not so much for the west, but to rile up their base... the Islamic people

Oh really

quote:

n an attempt to persuade the world that Israel is committing war crimes and to distract attention away from the illegal and immoral use of their own population as human shields, Hamas has resorted to staging a number of fake deaths and scenes of severely injured people right in front of international TV crews.

quote:

The BBC recently broadcast a news report showing a man being carried off by four others, seemingly the victim of an Israeli missile strike, only for him to reappear in the same clip a few seconds later wandering around completely unharmed. The same organization’s Jon Donnison yesterday re-tweeted a picture of the dead body of a young girl on a stretcher in Gaza with the headline "Heartbreaking," only for it to transpire that the girl had sadly been killed three weeks earlier in Syria.

Their whole goal is to fight inside civilian centers to maximize collateral damage. It makes them look sympathetic and raises world opinion against their enemies. Arab Warfare 101.
This is such BS.
Here's the deal GB, when you respond that way, you simply lose credibility. Of course rocket launchers are being deployed adjacent to schools in Gaza. Of course they could be deployed elsewhere instead.
quote:

Do you have any idea how many people live in the Gaza Strip? Do you know how big the area of Gaza is? Approximately 1.7 million in an area about 140 miles long by 25 miles wide. One of the densest populations in the world.
So what does that tell you?
