No one said that other than you.

The idea would be that Americans would open their eyes to the pitfalls of big federal government.

However, you're too much of a hack to see it. I'm not sure why I wasted my time.

The political hackery on this board is awesome.
For eight years, the excuses for the Bush administration were hilarious.
Now Obama continues the disassemble of this country and folks are suddenly all up in arms.

Truly disgusting...in an entertaining sort of way.

Are you kidding me? the Democrats have been using that same position for YEARS. "Well it's Bush's fault." "The Republicans forced through deregulation so they're to blame." "The Republicans are obstructionists who have thwarted Obama's plans."

It's amazing crass to run on it's their fault and then say that we're all in this together now that elections are over. Not that hyperpartisan bulls**t is any better.

Wazza matter? Dems should enjoy the big win, and the wind they will inherit.

Congratulations and good luck!

I agree, but they will always blame the Repubs when they inevitably fail, and the media will back them up.

I'm not a bit surprised.
Differing views will not be tolerated by big-government loving hacks.

You have outed yourself. Well done.

That's like getting pissed off at a bowel movement because it stinks.

quote:

I'm starting to think the Republican House of Rep should just cave in Give Obama what he wants: increase the marginal tax rate on small businesses making over $250,000 and on all individual taxpayers making more than that amount. The amount of deficit reduction would be almost nil. But the small business employers would lay off a massive number of people. The unemployment rate would go back over 9%. Tell Obama he owns the new recession. Let the US's credit rating be downgraded again. The Fed has already said it can't keep rates low if the deficit problem is not addressed. Maybe we have to burn the house down before we can rebuild it.....

I have been saying this since the day after the election. In every piece of legislation, boilerplate language should be required that the Rs are doing this in the name of compromise and do not believe in the merits of the legislation as a matter of principle. Basically and out clause...but otherwise, give them what they want and let them own it.

re: I'm starting to think the Republican House of Rep should just cave in
The stupidity of all of this is you can tax the rich to the f**cking hilt and it still wont make a dent in our debt. That is the big lie told by the Obama administration and all his minions! The whole purpose of taxation over the rich is control. Anyone that believes increasing tax rates on the rich is going to do one f**cking thing about our debt, is an idiot. When we have to start taking austerity measures like they are having to do in Greece, the fools that drank the Obama cool-aid will be wondering what the hell happened!

Roberts said it best "It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices." The people chose Obama so give them what they want. Let it all burn.
