It's exactly what the Dems have been wanting, what's wrong with giving to them? I agree with his sentiment. Give in, lets see what happens. I guarantee it will not have the results you think it will, but some folks will never shut up until proven wrong..

If the Repubes cave in, then the Dems will blame them for going along. "Well they did it too..." And idiot Americans will buy it.

Not if the Republicans don't vote for it.

Every SINGLE Republican should vote present.

The Republicans should say that Obama has a mandate to raise taxes. All the Bush Tax Cuts will end. Obamacare is the law of the land and business owners and the rest of the private sector need to live with the will of the voters. It's quite simple. We are headed for a recession in 2013, just look at Europe and you can see the writing on the wall. As the middle class sees the destruction in Obamas policies it will be too late for ousting Obama. Unemployment will climb above 9% and the Republicans can say Obama was given a mandate. He received full cooperation and now we are screwed.

I agree. Gift wrap the economy and hand it to him with a bow. Do it with fanfare, speeches, "here ya go Barack"... Let America feel Obamanomics and really enjoy it.
I agree 100% with this approach. Just give yourself enough wiggle room so that in a year or two you can come back and very gently say, "We told you so."

I second this. Let the people suffer for a while. May be the only way for common sense to become popular again.

Agree. The Pubs should do nothing. Let the Bush Tax Cuts end and the automatic cuts take effect. Let the majority electorate reap what they have sowed and see how it pans out. Who knows, maybe they have blindly charter the right course for our nation.

I would be game for that. Which House Republicans take the fall? It would take what 18 Republican votes to pass the house right?

I also want to see if he's bluffing or not. I feel like half the shite he says are just talking points. Hold a presser and say in the interest in bipartisan cooperation, we will allow Obama to raise taxes. Then see what he does when the ball's in his court and everyone knows responsibility lies with him.

Correct. Assuming all the Dems would vote 'aye' and all the Republicans would vote 'present' the bill would pass 192-0.

No matter WHAT happens, it will be the GOP's fault...for dragging their feet, for making Obama burn political capital, etc. The country could burn to the ground with Obama's fingerprints all over the gas can and the box of matches, and he'd never get blamed. Motherfricker makes Reagan look like the Velcro President.

The more I've thought about your comment the more pissed off I've become. You now call it unpatriotic to give Obama EXACTLY what he wants and what his main campaign promise was??? And you're an Obama supporter? Just how fricking stupid are you?

Your post exemplifies what is wrong with the country. Instead of trying to work with a situation, you want to "stick" it to the other side, even if it means the nation suffers.

I actually believe we do need to burn it down, but republicans insinuating that the problems are now obama's alone to solve is a just rotten fricking attitude.

They are in a can't win. Vote against, and they are obstructionist.

You have to remember most of the country are ok with an increase in taxes on the rich. So saying - ok, we will go with this but we are going to push for more spending cuts to let the tax increases pass. They won't "win" this battle on the sunday news circuit, but they can position themselves. And well, get spending down, which we desperately need to do.

Giving the other side what it campaigned on is NOT sticking it to them, dumbass.
