That all said, I've no doubt that the media has known about this for a while, and has sat on it.
If they are so uncurious about what actually happened at Benghazi, who doubts that they were protecting him, and most importantly his boss.
Lost all respect for Paetreus when he went to work for and with people, especially Hillary, who actually told him when she was a senator, that one had to wonder whether or not they should suspend disbelief when hearing him testify.
To me that was a dead give away on his character.

That logic has been discarded, how is he vulnerable if he admits the affair? Not really much of an ability to blackmail someone over something that is public knowledge.

No, but he has proven himself to have poor judgement. Totally unacceptable in the CIA Director. He came out and admitted it. Not everyone would. But it still makes him a security risk. His advice and judgement would always be suspect. He let his country down.
I don't care which admin he worked for in that respect. He's gotta go.
Now how long O and the media knew about it is another matter.
