rumor going around that it was more Dwight that pushed to get MB fired and not so much Kobe. Dwight threatened not to re-sign this summer long term if they didn't make a change ASAP.

Rumor has it Dwight is pushing for the Lakers to sign SVG as the new coach

Sounds to me like you got taken in by some Twitter jokes disguised as "rumors." At least that last one for sure.

Jerry Buss must be losing brain cells. Were they not ranked Top 5 in defense last year?

His offensive philosophy is the worst in basketball. People have been saying this for years now.

In fact, he has no offensive philosophy.

I think he was a terrible hire (should have went with Shaw), but this firing is even worse timing. With Dwight and Nash being new, Dwight and Kobe's preseason injuries, and now Nash's injuries, these guys have barely played together. Buss must have someone lined up to take over to do this so abruptly.

this was such a poor move...This smells like a Dwight Howard Push. It's his team now.

ETA: D'Antoni or Sloan.

Does Eddie Jordan get the axe too?

He may not be the greatest offensive mind, but Kobe is stupid for taking 35 shots a game, converting roughly 30% of said shots, and expecting to win a freaking game. Ron Artest needs to go too. Someone needs to tell Kobe that he needs to get over himself and that the offense should revolve around Pau and Dwight

Phil Jackson was supposed to be the keynote speaker for a business conference next week but cancelled at the last minute. Maybe there is something to these rumors. LINK
