This. LA can't even use federal highway funds competently.

I don't even want to talk about I-10 from Lafayette to Baton Rouge. Worst ride ever outside of I-55 from Louisiana state line to Jackson,MS.

How would this affect LSU in regards to SEC football?

Let's see if I have this right. We would co-opt the Louisiana National Guard. And with the support of a well armed populace we would secede and defeat the Yankees by sheer force of will and the fact that God is on our side. Cool. Go for it.
You don't have it right. 'independent' The real question is could LA survive. 1) Our resources not raped by the govt? Sure we could 2) Our access to the Mississippi River into the Gulf? Sure we could. 3) The fact flocks of the 47% would flee the state? Damn right we would thrive. Again, just for fun, we would be fine. Except we'd be out of the SEC and the NFL South. That would suck.

no, the secession would be peaceful without any war. Louisiana would simply cease to be a state and the government of the state would continue to run the state as an independent nation.

we did testing on the section from atchafalaya to Lafayette. They should be replacing sections of concrete within the next few years. Also did bridge bump testing on I-10 from TX to MS but I doubt that study ever makes it into an actual plan for repairs.

The only premise that works obviously.

I'm pretty sure we would have a large restructure in everything govt related if there was an actual secession. Oil money paves some nice roads, not to mention tariffs on the Mississippi River, intercostal, and I-10

What else would be the point of the thread? Don't think I'm the only one pointing out the actual question that is relevant. Do you disagree with my assesment on survival?

From the OP by the way 'independent'.

Pretty much. Louisiana would end up being a backwater banana republic. I guess, in a sense, it would "survive" but that really doesn't count. And this discussion is absurd. I only drop in to observe the retards and make a comment or two.

Sure. You don't grasp the actual trading power we would have.

Which I noted in terms of secession......

Would it sound more appealing to you if Texas seceded and took us along with them?

I guess. Good luck the rest of the way. I actually think you are one of the dumbest posters on this site by the way. You may be a lawyer, but my dad was too. And he was a big fricking idiot. I see comparisons.
