I hope Frank doesn't leave and I see everyone feels very dismissive about it. But isn't frank in the same stature Larry was before Memphis hired him as HC

I thought burton burns was better

Yes, he is a lot like Porter, in that he is a position coach at a position that doesn't require much strategy and is a well-liked recruiter.
It seems like the players like Frank more than Porter though, so that is a positive.
I see no way that an SEC school would turn their offense over to a guy who coaches running backs and isn't involved in innovative strategy. And the Locksley and Porter disasters in New Mexico and Memphis have shown that coaching in football is different from basketball. You can't just hire a good recruiter and expect wins.
Seems to me that Frank is going to be at LSU for a long time.

If frank ever leaves, that is my number 1 on my wish list. That mofo can recruit lights out. His running backs are always exceptional. Don't know if he would be better then frank, but he very well could be.

Frank assist with game planning for the offense. Miles has said this openly several times. Frank knows x's & o's extremely well. He is not just a recruiter trust me, he will get an offer for HC position real soon. Good Luck Frank! you deserve It!!

He'll be a hot coach to approach for either a HC or OC job.
Hmmm...I know just the place that use a good OC.

that's the most important part of this discussion. 2 very recent examples of guys similar to wilson absolutely flaming out as HCs

I don't see Frank going anywhere soon. tenn is too far for a lot of la. recruits. a defensive minded HC would want a more established oc. an offensive minded oc, Frank wouldn't take the job because he would be a puppet. he will be the next oc at LSU after stud. he knows LSU and LM. that makes for an easy transition while LM still around.

Why wouldn't any other program hire Stud? I think his resume and reputation are probably viewed with much more respect than you and Max give him credit for. Most of his Olines have been very good, he's done an admiral job filling in at OC here considering it was at last minute and he's been hamstrung by QBs last year and most of this.
Not to mention most of y'all think Miles is running the offense anyway, so hr could always blame any lack of success on that. But it looks like LSU will wind up being 24-3 or 23-4 during his tenure as OC. And he seemed to do.pretty well leading Bowling Green's offense. He's seen how to build and maintain successful programs from 2 of the best in the business. Not to mention his world-renowned dry rub.
If Milea wants to go in a different direction, I could.see him getting a decent OC job somewhere that wouldn't be embarrassing. Or even being a 2nd/3rd choice Ata non-BCS school.as HC. shite, he could.replace Dykes at Tech if they can't hit a homerun.

But back to Frank, he can't be expected to remain in his current position forever. He seems ambitious, and LSU is going to have to eventually promote him to OC(which I can't really see) or let him go sew his oats somewhere else and hope he makes his way back home eventually. I just hope we get another year or 2 from him.
