It's good. It's like a cross between an Oktoberfest and a pumpkin ale. Lots of spice, but balanced with smooth malt.

If I have a beer, it'll be more like 8pm. I've got too much to do til then.

Just got home from work and cracked my FBD: Green Flash Imperial IPA. I really love this beer and this is a fresh bottle (9/24)-so good. I've noticed that much of the Green Flash we see on the shelves here is not as fresh as I'd like. For instance, Matherne's and Marcello's both have West Coast IPA bottled in May.

Looked for the thread on my phone... must've slid to the second page. I guess I shouldn't be surprised it was started at 1:00 on a Tuesday!

FBD was a Tallgrass IPA - liked it
SBD is a Samuel Adams Third Voyage - also liking this one

Might not want to check the Stone dates then.

About the only Stone I buy regularly these days is the RIS, so freshness is not as important as with an IPA. I revisited their IPA several weeks ago, but I have moved on.

No beer tonight .. drinking wine at the folks house in Alabama. But here's what I scored at Derk's Filet & Vine in Montgomery today, which will be coming back home with me tomorrow:

also saw these but didn't buy them.. found them intriguing:

Nice haul! You should seek out some Bell's Two Hearted Ale while there.

This burns me up. I live kind of far out and the Kroger near me has a decent selection but it doesn't turn over very fast. I can only get IPAs from there every now and then b/c a lot times they have been sitting on the shelf for months and aren't worth buying.
