Said some of the reason for Alex Smiths turnaround is that Harbaugh started implementing Utah plays, where Smith was sucesssful. I hadn't had the pleasure of catching a butler comm. game, but maybe ol Les should take a look at what made Mett successful, and implement that into LSU's offense.

I'm just hoping we use the 2 weeks to our advantage. I'd really love to see LSU game plan FOR an opponent and not just run the same offense week in and week out and hope we just outplay the other team.

Sure. Just bring in the juco defense along with those plays

It is too late for this.

But I agree with this, but should have happened in the summer.

I had a similar thought about this earlier today. You would hope that the coaches have taken a look at what made Mettenberger successful in the past and find ways to have it translate within the LSU's offense.

Don't get what. I get that meet put up great numbers in juco against juco caliber defense.
Now that the is in the big leagues he isn't as good.

This was asked of Miles last week and like many coaches, he didn't agree. Unfortunately, he is short sighted on a number of aspects of the game.

LSU doesn't have to run a different offense, just pull o few plays, formations and pass routes that Mett used.

Why not scheme against the opposition?

Its not like he's being asked to make difficult reads with option routes. He is a pro style quarterback and always has been. New plays aren't going to make him more accurate. I think it's just a matter of comfort with the speed of the game. I expect him to be much improved next year but right now it looks like the game is moving too fast.

I can promise you saturday sometime right before halftime you are going to wonder if they even had a practice the past 2 weeks. As the norm you will see again just what you've been watching for the past 8 games. Nothing will change.

I sometimes wonder if the offensive coaches even bother to do film study of opposing defenses. If they do, it obviously doesn't impact their game planning, because that stays the same from week to week.

regardless of what you say, LSU does game plan FOR an opponent. the plan also incorporates what the offense is capable of doing. to assume our coaches are stupid is stupid.

I don't think this is it. Someone said it above, Mett was well protected there. I only saw him in the championship game. He was under a lot of pressure, and like any QB under pressure, he looked like shite.

The receivers need to catch the dang ball and line keep the defense off of him so he can pass.
