Great read. The last paragraph is interesting.

The Aftermath

The only person who came to the aid of the embattled consulate staff, correctly identified the attack as a terrorist event, and successfully evacuated the Americans was Deputy Interior Minister Wanis Al-Sharif.

He was fired on September 26th.

He's also the guy that announced to the world on 9.12.12 that the attacks rose from a protest at the consulate

Wonder what got him fired

Meh, I think his charge that the US was completely unprepared and insecure prior to the attack probably had more to do with his firing.

This whole thing stinks to high heaven and no one is giving up the real story. After this election this event is going to make the Iran-Contra hearings look like child's play .

I wonder where the drones were based, and If they sent a backup because one was running low on fuel, why wasn't it armed...

[quote]"Why, after a cry for help to Leon Panetta and after the president gave a directive to protect — he claims he gave a directive to protect those people, Panetta ... now claims that he didn't, he told the personnel to stand down," he said. "So either the president didn't give the directive or the president isn't being truthful or perhaps Leon Panetta acted as commander-in-chief. This is the subject right now that people are talking about, and the economy. Not Richard Mourdock."/quote]

Sorry I'm late to the party but it seems my fellow shipmate NAVYTIGER74 has diffuse this rumor.

I'll just say rumor is untrue. I personally know the front office of one of the number 2s at africom (one is civilian, the other military) and and he didnt not "relieve" general ham. And general ham's change of command is regularly schedule...and his deputy will also change office both in the spring/summertime of next year. so he's not being fire or any other conspiracy theories that's out there.

BTW AFRICOM is my next command...so I well aware of the happenings there...

If Obama ordered the military to “secure our personnel,” as he claims he did in Denver on Oct.26th ....where is the order?

Michael Yon mentioned this thread on one of his facebook posts. He also posted Ambassador's profile info. I guess Yon lurks here, since he's a gator fan.

Yon actually feels that this rumor is dubious. He feels that the bloggers who are linking to this thread should find better sources fwiw.
