Thank you.

We don't answer to the tyrants of other nations how We the People elect our government representatives. Those who call for us to bow to them are supporters of tyranny.

Awesome! Texas knows how to get things done!
Yes! I hope this is the spark that finally lights the fires of freedom-loving people across our entire fifty states. The absolute gall of the U.N. to propose doing this. The absolute and total absence of leadership on the part of our current "American" President for not telling the U.N. and its observers to get the hell out of our elections before they even think about getting in!

For what offense?

According to Rick Perry there are 3 reasons for arrest.

1. Trespassing
2. Voter Intimidation
3. Well, he couldn't remember the third one.

re: Texas threatens to arrest UN observers

quote:

“The OSCE may be entitled to its opinions about Voter ID laws, but your opinion is legally irrelevant in the United States, where the Supreme Court has already determined that Voter ID laws are constitutional,” Abbott wrote. “If OSCE members want to learn more about our election processes so they can improve their own democratic systems, we welcome the opportunity to discuss the measures Texas has implemented to protect the integrity of elections. However, groups and individuals from outside the United States are not allowed to influence or interfere with the election process in Texas.”

Great quote.

America doesn't need anyone other than Americans overseeing how we elect our President. Period.

I don't understand why anyone from either party would want this.

re: Texas threatens to arrest UN observers

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott further fueled the controversy on Tuesday when he sent a letter to the OSCE warning the organization that its representatives “are not authorized by Texas law to enter a polling place” and that it “may be a criminal offense for OSCE’s representatives to maintain a presence within 100 feet of a polling place's entrance.”

"may be"???

Kinda surprised they didn't cite any specific criminal law

do you have a right to loiter in a polling place and "oversee" what the people are doing?

If you don't, do you believe UN observers do?

They've actually done this for years

The times I ever see people get pissed about election monitors it usually involves repressive governments. Not sure what problem there is with this.

I took it to mean, it depends on what these people are doing. I'm guessing Texas has specific laws as to what sorts of activities are prohibited within 100 feet of polling places.

They aren't citizens of this country and have no say in our election process. We do not answer to the people of other nations on how we elect our representatives.

I know that is difficult for you to comprehend just it is difficult for you to comprehend that Obama lied about Benghazi when he blamed a video tape and just lie the dems lied about the shootings in Tucson when they blamed the rhetoric of Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and the tea party as being the cause. Simpletons, like yourself, are easily fooled.

really? since when?

ETA: not saying you are wrong...I have just never heard it. and if they have done it before I am just as pissed about it

I know we don't answer to them anyway, but I don't see any reason for them to be there

If I see a UN observer at the polls, I will follow him around and play a trumpet in his ear all day.
