Been reading a lot of the reports from various guides but was hoping someone could give me some helpful info to get on some fish.

Got my chugs, shad colored cranks, etc!

I went there last weekend. If you fish shallow get you some swim jigs with a swimbait as a trailor.

Paging Loanshark.... Going to be tough this weekend, post front, dress warm.
Carolina rig with trick worm seems to be doing well from what I've heard.
ETA: What part of the lake you going to?

This is important as we fished last weekend from indian mounds to cypress bend. caught a ton of fish most in the 13-just under 14 size and since ive been on a diet i guess those pounds i lost doesnt help squish them as much to get that wxtra inch when i step on em . we caught #s on the cranks (shad colors) and the keepers on tx and carolina plastics mainly brush hogs in any shade of watermelon. most fish came off humps in the 6-12 ft with standing timber and deep water close by. had a buddy fish matted grass in 6-8 ft punching through with a pegged weight. was a slower weekend considering we have our annual guys weekend the same time every year and this year was by far the worst, not really bad but the worst we have had. we kept 50+ bass and 30 or so perch. we were behind a front also so im blaming it on that and not the excessive flow of bud light. i want to go back and really fish and try some deeper holes. good luck

post front on the bend can be ridiculously difficult. i have found that the sacalait are easier to catch post front than the bass.

We are staying mid-lake.....BassHaven Resort

Going to lean on the local guide there for spots to fish and hopefully the cooler weather won't hurt too much.

Thanks for the few tips though guys

Bass Haven is south lake, just North of South Toledo Bend State Park, much nicer place to stay IMO. I typically like to fish texas side more than LA, but if you want to stay close to that area, head North to Pirates Cove, just before you get to the creek opening from main lake, turn in and start working your way in, there are some small islands for refrence. If you feel like crossing the lake, Housen is my favorite, stay on the south side when you come into it though, the north is very shallow. Fin and Feather is a decent place to grab lunch and a few drinks if you take the notion, its right on the water. Mill creek, buck creek, and Indian creek are all really good as well. There is an artificial reef at the south end on the LA side near the spillway, I have a buddy that destroys there in the fall/ winter. Personally I have never had any luck on it, but I'm not much of a deep water guy.
Good luck and post pics when you get back.

We fished Toledo the weekend of October 6th. Caught fish Friday pre-front, caught 6 bass in 30 minutes Saturday morning, then the front came blasting through. Caught zero the next 18 hours of hard fishing. My advice with this artic blast is "Cancel Now"!

Green shakey head with finesse worm in watermelon red, my go to for post front. Lighter the better on the shakey head.

Should have listened Pineville......

Lake was rough and couldn't bet across to try different areas. Ended up coming back to Sorrell Sat afternoon and staying at in-laws camp. Caught a few Sun morning.

Rough weekend with the wind

I bet it was a tough weekend. I dont mind the post front as much as the wind to keep you from hunting them down.

TB can be a rough SOB, always helps to know where the boat lauches in the backs of creeks are...
