ALERT: I'm only halfway through season 3, so don't spoil shite for me, mother frickers.

A) The constant conflict between Nate and Brenda

or

B) The near absence of conflict between Nate and Lisa

Both are annoying in separate ways. Brenda makes me want to set myself on fire while I'm a million miles away from any source of water.

Lisa makes me feel like my skin is being peeled off slowly down to tendon, ligament and bone.

Lisa, Brenda and Nate combined to be the most annoying group of characters ever on TV for me and I liked the show. I literally could not stand a single one of them by the end of the show.

Dear lord, I hated Lisa so much with her passive aggressive behavior. Brenda was terrible too but at least she was more attractive than Lisa.

Damn, Six Feed Under? A story of a small-town ranch funeral home, I guess.

I actually tried watching once and quit because of Nate and Brenda alone.

Add Lisa to the mix and it's just a disaster.

It's been a while, but I think I remember skipping through a lot of Nate and Brenda's dialogue after I realized it contributed almost nothing to the story. I thought it was a really great show otherwise.

Every character is über annoying at at least one point in the series. Still loved the show though.

Considering all the love this show gets, I thought I might have been the only one who couldn't stand them. Glad I was wrong.

I loved the show because people act like human beings -- erratic and awful at times. Everyone has good moments and bad moments. Except Lisa. She always, always, ALWAYS sucks.

I don't want to give anything away, but Brenda at least has some human moments where I see where she's coming from, especially given her family. but by far the best relationship on the show is Ruth and Claire. Their dynamic is always interesting to me.

They all drive me bat shite insane in varying moments. I suppose that's a testament to their ability to write believable characters.

On a rewatch of the series, I'm surprised by how much I dislike Nate.

I didn't care for him by the end of the show. Just too much self-pity and selfishness in general.

Yeah, I've grown to dislike him as well.

Which is surprising, because I'm a homer for all things Peter Krause.

My favorite character in the show was Claire. The final show of the series is the best ending ever written!!!

The show is a surreal depiction of the human condition. Honestly it got too real/boring for me at some point during the 4th season and I starting watching other more interesting stuff. It's a good show and I enjoyed a lot of it but when you have limited time to devote to TV, some decent chaff gets filtered from the wheat.

Good analysis, imo.
