You want a guy returning punts with bad hands, who can't make defenders miss, and who goes down at first contact?? Unwise.

I wish all the best for shep. Dude hung in there when he produced and still never saw field. He would have had a better career at a school like Oregon.

I've watched for Shep to show up for 4 years. I just don't think the boy has it. Flame away.

Imagine what Paul Johnson could have done with him at Georgia Tech.

I love Shep and he has been a great Tiger. He made an important stop on kick coverage this past week.

And sure, I guess it can be said that his production never measured up to his 5 star billing. And both he and the fans are probably somewhat disappointed in this.

But, unless I'm mistaken, the guy has gotten a decent amount of playing time as a Tiger for 4 years now. And he has gotten to experience some memorable moments and plays.

That's more than a lot of people, even a lot of LSU football players can say.

Can't blame CLM here. Les doesn't drop wide open TD passes.

Stupid and not very nice statement. There isn't a receiver alive at any level who hasn't dropped a TD pass. Did you see the Bronco's guy catch the wide open pass which should have been an easy touchdown and then trip over his own feet? Do you think he is not a good player? My problem with everyone judging Shep so harshly is that he has not been given a real chance to succeed. Not nearly enough touches or plays designed for him to be a part of. No I don't think he is a great receiver. He is a utility back who can do it all. Run, catch, throw and we haven't even begun to and never will use him in the innovative ways that would let him shine. Despite all of this he has some great long runs and receptions for touchdowns.

Run? He can run fast in a straight line, but has no ability to make defenders miss. And he goes down at first contact.

Catch? Surely you can't be serious.

Throw? We don't know about this, but I'd have to suspect no.

I'm tired of arguing about this guy. He seems to be a great guy that made a mistake in which school to attend. He would have been better suited for a coach that is willing to adapt the offense a little to fit what he is good at. That coach is not les miles.

But he has gotten to be part of something great at lsu and has been in place only we can dream about.

However I'm done waiting for him to have a breakout game.

The jet sweep should be ran at least once a game with him. If for nothing else to set up a play fake off of it.

Why Shep should be on the field:
a) Best deep threat we have - anybody faster on O at present? At present, I don't think D's really concern themselves with any of our WRs as a deep threat.
b) Still a good playmaker; good threat to take it the house. Should make D's account for him every play.

Big time college football is not a quota system...the best play and the under performers don't.

They have tried to incorporate RS into the offense for four years. Last week against SC the coaches didn't go out of their way to feature him in any package. I assume it will be that way the rest of the season.

Time to move on and wish RS the best. If he contributes any, the rest of the year, then we can be gratefull ... if he doesn't then he will be on the bench. No ones fault. He just hasn't panned out to all the hype coming out of high school.

Coming into this season he averaged 6.8 yds /carry and 9.1 yds / catch. This guy needs the ball in his hands more.

Some of you act like none of the other receivers are dropping passes.
