Was there or was there not a fair catch signal given by OBJ when he got hit near the sidelines? I couldn't see from the re-play and Hawthorne thought there was..not to mention he did FC a lot last night.

If so, this clearly shows bias on the part of the SEC officials. "Intent to harm" flag on Loston...but nothing on a kick catch interference?

Mike Slive back at work?

I don't like him either. Him and Rogers Redding bring a new definition to control of games.

I had as much fun watching them trying to spot the ball all night. Some really questionable spots both ways.

That "intent" call was bullshite. It still pisses me off. The OBJ call was questionable too, but I didn't see the replay to see if he called for fair catch.

Did anyone find out what Copeland did on the interception return?

I was in southwest corner of end zone and clearly saw OBJ wave an arm as the ball was coming down, but it wasn't a distinct wave with his arm high above his head.

One of those things that was almost a judgment call, but I'm sure he would have been flagged if he would have returned it for a TD!

I didn't think he signaled. I thought Musberger called it wrong. But I do remember players complaining after the no-call, so maybe he did?

Obj waved for a fair catch and was tackled

Not sure why that wasn't called...

i was wondering about that as well. tv commentators said there was a fair catch called for but the camera wasn't on him, then he made the catch and got tackled, no flag, no comment from them, no replay.

It seemed as if the announcers and the fans in the stadium (from the boos) at least thought he signaled for a fair catch, but no TV angles to support it were ever aired. Any ranters at the stadium see a fair catch called?

I was way up in the south end zone and saw the signal clearly.
His right arm clearly waved above his head.
No excuse for refs not seeing the signal.

True. Tv commentators said "he calls for the fair catch" before OBJ caught it. After the play OBJ complained to the refs. Clearly, OBJ thought he'd waved a fair catch. TV never replayed.

Of course, it could be worse. We could be Standford where we actually made a touchdown before the play was blown dead and not get credit. Now that was a hosing in ND's favor. Pitiful.

No excuse for missing this call. He clearly waived his hand. It was not the sort of quick/low wave that refs miss

He did not give a signal that meets the criteria of the rules:

Valid Signal
ARTICLE 2. A valid signal is a signal given by a player of Team B who has obviously signaled his intention by extending one hand only clearly above his head and waving that hand from side to side of his body more than once.

He stuck his right hand up and slashed it down to his side while moving to his left.

Yeah that's a problem then. Player safety is paramount. Even if it was an invalid fair catch signal...he's afforded protection. Hmmmm...maybe Les should be sending that tape to the SEC Head of officials. Maybe some suspensions are in order.

Yeah. That should have been called. Fortunately, nobody got hurt.

Honestly, it was a quick half assed wave of the hand. I thought it was enough but wasn't a great wave. I thought he was going to do it again to make it more clear.
