As a business owner, I can tell you the paperwork is going to be a nightmare. With a household and two people working, obviously they both will not need insurance. This will be additional paperwork for the business owner. And as a business owner, aside from the 70-80 hours I already work, I can tell you more employee paperwork is just what I'm looking forward to...

But hey what do you know? The scholars have weighed in and they are waiting for numbers to come out to tell you how it really effects you!!

Of course you are going to have to do more BS paperwork, you know have more regulations and prolly can't grease a Senator or Congressman to get a waiver. Time is money in a business.

My buddy is already going to just split his company into two parts to get around it. But his causes more paperwork etc.

The link the quoted above focused on companies with 25 employes or less, if I am not mistaken Obamacare forces those with 50 or above really take a hit.

If both spouses work at different companies, both companies have over 50 employees, one of them will not want insurance. Since the company is going to be forced to provide it, will there be waiver forms? This means more paperwork and justification from the business. This will also mean more audits from the IRS, since they are the enforcer. There are so many unanswered questions, this thing is sure to be one massive clusterf**k...

re: Business's look for ways around ObamaCare......

My company is going through what changes we are going to make. Currently we only provide healthcare for superintendents and office staff. It costs us about 18000 a year per employee's family. Our insurance agent is telling us our fine is about 1400 per employee. That leads us toward dropping insurance but the fine would be against all full time employees.
The other thing is that everyone is talking about 50 full time employees. If what our insurance agent is telling us is correct then your full time employee count is based on:

Total hours worked company wide/2080.

If this number is above 50 then you meet the threshold requiring you to have insurance for all employees. We are in construction and work a lot of overtime therefore we don't have to have 50 employees to be considered to have 50 FTE(government lingo for full time employees even though they aren't really there).

So if we have a good year and my employees average 60 hours a week then it only takes 34 employees to meet the 50 FTE criteria.

This is all based on what our agent is telling us.

If a business wants to claim Obamacare shut them down and they want people to act based on that claim, they have to prove it.
You're full of yourself. No one owes you proof of anything.

There is plenty of scholarship suggesting just the opposite, that Obamacare is eminently reasonable and not prohibitively expensive -- particularly for small business.

And you demand "proof"? Ok, let's see your "proof" of how not prohibitively expensive Obamacare will be! And don't give me a survey. Give us a calculation with citations to the bill.

Support among small business owners appears extremely analogous with sentiments among the public at large.

You don't do that. Somebody else does that.
