had a real nice bachman's I got near talisheek in the 80s.....


was on display at taxidermists... vanished....

neat looking squirrells...

I didn't know they weren't that widespread? We used to kill them while squirrel hunting in South Alabama when I was a kid. They preferred the pine forests, where the greys preferred the hardwoods. Even up here, they are found more with the pines than the greys are. Pretty common, and yes, they are pretty. We've got a few solid black ones. Now they are a lot more rare than the bald faced ones.
