I think you should try eHarmony. I once wrote an article on it, and had to join. It was a lengthy process, but very cool.

My friend and I did the online dating search a while back. He met a girl who he now lives with and will marry im sure. They have some decent chicks on there that are tired of bums at the bars. So give it a try

I met plenty of chicks in real life. I just used online dating as another medium to meet more chicks. I don't understand how this is a bad thing? Why would someone limit themselves with meeting new people?

I went on match for 3 weeks when I first moved to Nola. Some guys are kind of weird. I swear 2 of them (med residents) were a step away from being gay and trying to salvage their straightness. Other than that, dated a guy for a month and half. didn't work out. then I met some girl friends and then meeting guys out is easy.
Wasn't a bad experience, just meh.
Alot of old creepy guys on there too.

like I said, I only met anyone after several weeks or months of communication through e-mails, texts, or phone calls
I would advise anyone that is looking to try online dating to not watch the movie Catfish
