Use a Neurosurgeon, not ortho. You are dealing with nerves not bone.

Would not suggest Thad Broussard. Very nice guy, but I saw him for an ankle injury as a 20 year old and he basically said I was screwed and he couldn't do anything. Ended up having surgery after a second opinion and it's fine. Kevin Mccarthy is very good. Nice guy also. Saw him for a back injury. No surgery needed though.

Scrantz is excellent. I would see him if I had a back problem. Eiserloh does good work too.

I have to admit, I have read some really ignorant responses in threads on the OT. This thread may have some of the most ignorant responses that I've ever read. That's saying a lot.

Lived in Baton Rouge for years and had always gone to Orthopedic and Sports medicine clinic. Dr. Laughlin was my doc. I moved to Lafourche Parish and after a couple of years I needed to get my chronic back problem fixed. Dr. Thomas Donner in Thibodaux did a disc removal and fusion 2 years ago and for the first time in over 20 years I am pain free and can do almost anything I want without suffering for a week after. Take the drive to Thibodaux and see Dr. Donner.

I agree. People don't know the difference between bones an nerves.

If you can, get out of LA if you need surgery. The risk of letting the doctors in this state operate is too high.

I agree with this. Bankston operated on my mother and made her condition significantly worse and forced us to go out of state to fix it.
Fwiw, that's just the first page. Too tired to keep going, but you get the picture.

Broussard is great, he does not operate on backs, but if you want to try the non surgical approach first he will take care of you, sounds liike you have been down that route with no luck If you are looking for a surgeon, I would use isaza, Scrantz, iserlow (sp) in that order. Isaza does not get a lot of love on here but I have full faith in him

fwiw, Isaza is known in the business as a huge plaintiff whore, and will cut on you in a second regardless of whether or not surgery is required. Were you referred to him by an attorney, and had a case against an insurance company?

In the business? You must be talking about the lawyer business, in the medical business he has a great rep I have never been referred to him
