In a loss where we are had 2 of our starting 5 on the oline , one of which is the guy we've ran behind for two years. We lost by one score , on the road , to a good defense.

Our O woes go farther back than last Saturday and pass drops and OL injuries and Crowton and . . .

I like Les but I think Les can very reasonably do an even better job than he has done.

Since Charles allots himself a sidebar of questions but refuses to extend this privilege to other posters I'll just put'em in the form of statements:
a) Coaches can improve.
b) Coaches are always assessed on not only what they do accomplish but also on what they within reason could have accomplished.
c) Coaches have blind spots.
d) Coaches are not infallible. They too make mistakes.
e) Coaches have but one overarching job and that's to make people like you and me, i.e., fans, happy (some will have think about this for a while but in time you'll concur).

ahhhh.....but you need to substantiate your position. Finally a true yes!

I know more about the game of football than Les Miles. I am not a better coach than les. Being a coach is more than X's and O's. I believe he would be a better motivator and recruiter than me. On the field coaching....I would embarrass Les.

This assumes you are fully aware of each player's capabilities, injuries, habits, etc.

You so sure that given the exact same set of circumstances, you'd win that chess match?

Now, you may be on to something......I do believe that Leach may win that chess match based on football X's and O's, but their styles are different and require specific skill sets. In the long run, Les' philosophies have shown to be more successful....BUT, again, it's a very dynamic football world.

Question has nothing to do with presidents.

but it applies, doesn't it?

The reason it doesn't apply is not because the OP was about Les but because it is an illogical comparison.

We get to exercise OUR VOTE and elect a President. He is our representative as are those in the city council, state legislatures and both the houses.

We didn't directly or indirectly select or elect the football coach. He is for all practical purposes an employee/teacher( state employee ) at LSU and is subject (by the random person) to the same amount of scrutiny you can give the Head of Department of Chemical Engineering.

PS - this was a reply only to the logical nature of the question not whether anyone knows more than Les or not.

Hell no.

Not sure what that has to do with much though. I probably don't know as much about football as 99.9% of all coaches in the NCAA or NAIA.

Is Les Miles applying all the football he knows on the field? Yes or No.

Yes: Then he should quit
No: Then he should quit

As someone else pointed it - it is not just the Xs and Os - there is also administration/discipline/recruiting / speeches/ schmoozing etc...

Though the past three weeks ( last week especially ) were really disappointing - firing Les is the most illogical and asinine inference from those events.

No---which makes it kinda scary when I can predict the play that's coming WAY too often.
