Steroids, don't be retarded folks....

It was a terrible chop block...dirty as hell, Goodell needs to protect players on defense too.

After further review, it was a pretty shitty play

It looks pretty messed up on replay. Cut block from downfield coming back towards the line of scrimmage and Cushing has no chance in hell of protecting himself.

It was mentioned in a telecast maybe Sunday night, but I noticed you don't hear too much about "defenseless" defensive players, and that sure looks like one right there.

Yeah, total hypocrisy when it comes to the defense.

block was a cheap shot. Basically a crackback block by diving from the side into the knee of defender trailing a play.

Frick you Matt Slauson.

Agree to disagree. After years of steroid use, your body becomes far more prone to muscle tears. It is not causation (in this case), but there sure as hell is a correlation.

you should watch the play where he got hurt first, he was blocked below the knee from behind, don't be shocked if there is a fine, it was pretty dirty block.

I think this is a perfect opportunity to set a standard where if you commit an illegal hit (or facemask, etc.) that ends a player's season, you are also done for the season via suspension.

Get real it was cheap shot but a large fine should do

No he wasn't. In fact he hasn't missed any time in the pros due to injury.

Should have kept Demeco Ryans

No, they should not have kept Ryans. Lets ignore the 20/20 hindsight since there was no way to know Cushing would get hurt. First of all there is this thing called the salary cap. The Texans were over the cap last summer and had to get under. They had to outright cut starting RT Eric Winston to get under, plus after the 2012 season they were going to have to resign Duane Brown and Matt Schaub (they've re-upped with both) LT and QB > ILB. Most importantly, Ryans did not really fit Wade Phillips Defense. He did not play well last year and was often a 2 down player. Part of that was coming off a devastating injury in 2010, but he's more a 4-3 MLB.

that was more egregious than any hit in the entire bounty program.

I think he should sit out at least 1 game, if not more. There is absolutely no need for that shite

thought the same thing last night when it happened. Hate it for BC. Hope Wade Phillips has a backup plan because I'd love to see the Texans in the SB against San Fran.

I don't know if BC is taking roids or not, and I frankly don't care. He's a hell of a ball player and I really enjoy watching him play. As someone who has torn their ACL in the past, I empathize with him. Don't know if Slauson was maliciously playing that way, but that's between Slauson and God to settle. Sucks for BC.

you could see them doing the knee test on tv after the injury and before the replay. No way the knee is supposed to come out like it did.

It sucks for the fans when an elite player like that is taken out by such a cheap shot

That does not change the fact that steroids make it FAR more likely for muscle tears after years of steroid use. For all we know, it could have been purely bad luck, but the side-effects of steroids make injuries like this far more frequent. I am not debating the legality and cleanliness of the hit.

Didn't they comment on the play after it happened last night basically saying it was fringe dirty, but not exactly saying it was dirty?

Okay i guess what I was thinking of was one of those years he was suppose to be suspended for like 4 games or something...

i just remember in the past of hearing him possibly losing time.. or something.. i guess he never served the suspension tho?

what evidence do you have to back up the claim that proper steroid use would lead to muscle tears?

I would imagine that a guy like Cushing would take it responsibly.

maybe so, but it is retarded to apply it here after seeing the hit
