I watched that one too! I had a Buck Rogers action figure (which blew me away because up to that point, I had the Star Wars figures. The Buck Rogers ones had jointed limbs!)
And I had a Twiki figure too but I always called him Twinkie. Hey, I was 6 or 7 years old, give me a break.

Me and my brother had those BSG toys that shot little red missiles. Some kids choked on them and they stopping making the toys that shot the little projectiles

Yep, a buddy of mine had the old Cylon raider fighter and the wings slid out and revealed the little red missiles.
I never got one because they discontinued making them.

I can't express in words how good BSG is as a TV show. One of the best ever made.
Everything that has been said, from being sci-fi remake titled Battlestar Galactica, wife hating sci-fi but loving BSG, frack is annoying but grows on you, musical score that prevails throughout the show - you will never listen to All Along the Watchtower the same way again, politics, drama, sex, characters that change but hold true, characters that want to stay true but change, the ending...
What people call "good TV shows" barely hold a candle to BSG.
