And they're military. Realistically they'd be dropping f-bombs regularly. Throw in the Apocylapse and it's probably amazing that every other line of dialogue wasn't "frack."

not trolling, i just didn't search i guess. i'm going to watch it. Carnival is good, it's movie quality, had to have cost a fortune to make.

yep, avoided it, decided to watch one episode about 2 months ago.....didn't watch anything else til it was done. Very good show, decent series long Arc.

Finale was good, MUCH BETTER than Lost's finale.

Carnivale was outstanding. I don't think the general public was quite ready for what it had to offer. It beats the shite out of American Horror Story for creepy weirdness... Plus it was a period drama. Had to have been financially draining to produce and ended too soon.

Battlestar Galactica is one of the best shows you'll ever watch. There's politics, human drama, religious angles... all packed into a believable sci-fi realm. The fact that the special effects are WAY above what you'd expect really helps (especially if you generally aren't a genre fan). I agree you need to start with the mini-series to get your mind in the mode... I don't know a single person that "gave it a shot" that wasn't hooked by midway through season 1. There's something for everyone. I'm in the "loved the finale" camp. The show didn't overstay its welcome by running too long... and you could tell they had thought it through regarding how they were going to end it.

Let us know what you think of both.

The early episodes that followed the series premiere are what made the whole thing for me-- '33','Water', 'Act of Contrition'-- they really put you in the fight for survival/plight of the doomed mindset, to where you got the characters on a very basic level, and could appreciate how that kind of desperation would fuel everything you see later in the series.

'33' is one of the best episodes of anything, ever.

The mini-series is the multi-hour premiere that they made, to see if the thing would fly (pardon the pun)

"33" is technically the first episode of Season 1... but the 3rd episode overall.

One of my favorite shows ever. Gets boring in the 4th Season but push through, it finishes strong.

Wow, I'm usually the first into these threads, not so much today.

Well said, as always.

But yes, it's just a wonderful show. Plenty of interesting characters and a multitude of themes.

Also underrated: The Cinematography (inspired by Firefly and documentaries), and score.
