Really good, lean venison

Guy killed a 1500 pounder up in the Brooks Range recently.

In fact, it may end up being the second largest ever taken down.

Area he was killed has little to no woods. It's above the arctic circle and primarily tundra. Southern slopes of the Brooks Range are the northern extent of treeline.

I'm trying to get some friends together to do a public land caribou hunt up there, north or the arctic circle somewhere

You down on that?

I'm talking camping out on the tundra, eating mre's if we don't kill anything.

Denali Highway is a decent place. Relatively good access via the road and beautiful scenery. Also other game you can take there as well as doing some fly fishing. Many other areas require fly in and that gets really pricey

Denali highway is the place I've been looking at, I don't want to have to get a bush plane to drop us off anywhere

Yep, fly into Anchorage or Fairbanks and get a motorhome. Depending on flying in to many areas is risky as hell, you can get weathered in for weeks.
