I think this is our biggest issue. Our offense isn't designed around Mett's strengths so he struggles to run it. IMO he has slow footwork. We need more shotgun, more 2 RB sets (we actually saw success with this vs UF) and less I-form and under center sets. I know this is bc we have such great RB's but we should use these sets later in the game and mix them in early.

Yep. He got sacked on a 3 step drop one time. That is just sad.

We designed the offense around JJ then kept it when we got a QB with a great arm. Mett's confidence is now shot.

Still, I know in my gut that he will be awesome if we just let him start slinging it. He's a guy that plays best when his ego is thru the roof.

Thanks for reading. You're an idiot. Why are you on this board. Go sign the fire les miles petition and leave the constructive threads to the actual fan's and alumni.

What a jackass response. This is a message board for discussion. I agree with the OP. shotgun 2 back sets with way more screens and draws has to be our primary set.

I probably know more about football than you, actually.

Spells confidence right there. If you know football then talk football. Tell me why you agree or disagree. Show me what you know. I don't claim to know everything but I'm here to discuss the team I love. Not trade one liners with losers lurking the board.

I think we are trying to run a quick slant on a 3 step drop often. I think some of this is Mett changing the play at the line but its now known that we like to do this. The pocket collapses too fast on him and we end up with nothing. He doesn't have time to progress through the receivers.

the OP was actually a pretty decent, well thought out point, unlike most rant posts.

Thanks. Any other thoughts? Has anyone noticed any similarities in the successful plays. I wish I had DVR-ed all the games so I could go back and compare our different formations and our completion % for each and sacks for each.
