Civilian militia army

So let’s just pretend. An invasion is imminent. China’s army is here. Aliens have arrived. An army of Sasquatch is approaching the US. There is not enough military force assembled to meet the immediate threat. Civilian militia is called upon for support. Let's say you have to grab your gun. Then meet at city hall in one hour for futher orders. How many of you would volunteer?
Good news. Every store in the state is giving ammo to support the milita forces. The military is also helping out. So let's say all ammo will be supplied even though everyone should bring some ammo of their own.
I imagine we would have militia groups of:
Assault rifle divison: AK’s, AR’s, etc…
Long rifle division: 22’s on up
Shotgun division: First shot is with a slug then go straight to buckshot.
The weapon I would bring would be a M1 Garand and as much ammo as I could carry.
What weapon will you take?

Two judges and one .243. First I will rack the action on my shotgun to throw them into a state of panic.

You'll die first. It it's squatches or large alien's you'll need that level of firepower, but for Christ's sake, get a lighter, modern weapon that uses mags like an FAL, AR10, G3 or M1A.
If it's Chinese, smaller aliens or zombies, just get an goddamn AR. You can carry a LOT more ammo.
A pump or semi-auto of your choice, cut down to 16" or so.
The .45 of your choice.
My arsenal, assuming I am limited to guns I own:
Imbel FAL or DPMS M4, 870 Riot Gun, FN45.
If I can have anything off the rack:
High-end AR10 with a 26" barrel and $1,200 Nightforce scope or JP Enterprises JP15 w/20" barrel and ACOG, Benelli M4, FN45.

M14 with a detachable scope and the trusty 1911 as my sidearm. I'll be worn slap out from toting that heavy equipment though.

I'm not fighting for any organized force...already fought my wars...screw 'em.
Instead, I'd train up a few buddies and stick with guerilla activities around my county where I have intimate knowledge of the area.
I'd use my old-guy "muzzle-loader" "Slab Side SP1 AR-15 (24 inch barrel) with a scope and see-through mount to use iron sights when needed.
Allows me to keep my distance, yet make 400 yd head shots all day long. Can carry lots of ammo & have a semiauto weapon in a pinch. Alternatively, a .scoped 308 bolt action rifle (or any other deer rifle) and a 9mm sidearm.
Instead, I'd train up a few buddies and stick with guerilla activities around my county where I have intimate knowledge of the area.

Probably one of my ARs and my glock 19. I have lots of ammo and mags for both.

I'd go
Remington 700 .280
Two Beretta M9's
M249 SAW with a red dot scope
Already have the first two, but I'd switch out the .280 for a assault rifle depending on what the folks around me had.
If this hypothetical did in fact happen, the Chinese probably wouldn't have much of a chance, if we got a heads up that they were on the way. Also, I'd ditch the M9's if it were anything bigger than your average person.
