I like angel but not high on having him when he is 36

Pagan would be a solid pickup. I'd rather not be paying him $9 million when he's 36 though.

Agreed. I'd front load the shite out of any contract to Pagan while we have money now, and to save money when we need it for the younger guys in a couple years. I could get down with those two moves. Will leave you with $7-8M, and I'd extend Prado and Heyward. Would be four solid moves this offseason.

Way too much money and too many years for Pagan. But he'd be a nice addition. Willingham would be too and fill the need for a right hand bat. Any way we could find a way to get Headley would be fap worthy.

I hate free agency, especially in this age of new television contracts and increasing payrolls. Even if you want a player like Pagan, you have to pay high dollars. Sucks.

I am afraid we probably cost ourselves a boatload of money by not getting this done earlier.

DOB loves Willingham. I don't see the Twins trading him

You dangle young pitching at them, and I think they would trade him without thinking twice. The price will be steep, though.

If I was SF i'd offer him 10 mil per for 3 years.

I think this sounds like a likely Braves scenario, and I would be fine with it as long it was 3-4 years for Pagan, not 5. I could also see us just trading for Willingham and Span, though the price might get a little steep there. But Delgado/Hanson plus a couple other lesser prospects for Willingham would make me happy for LF, and having a 7 mil LF would allow us to extend Prado.

Can we go ahead and extend Meds while we're at it?

The problem with Willingham is that he has reverse splits, and we already suck enough against LHP.

Had a .920 OPS last year against lefties. .877 against righties. Average is low, but I sure would that OPS.

I didn't even look at that. I just want us to find someone like Matt Diaz circa 2006-2009. We weren't quite as inept against lefties this year, but we definitely need to find at least one guy who kills them.

Don't get me wrong, Willingham would be awesome. Just very expensive. Also, Nick Swisher looking for Jayson Werth money, $20 million per year, is just hilarious.
