Question for the OB. Do you slowly walk or do you sit at a tree and wait for the bushy tail? I am more of a stalker. I hate to sit and wait!

Walk, shake vines, shoot up in nest etc. Although I'd prob kill more if I spent an evening in a stand with a .22

I walk slowly through the swamp.

I'm much more of a sit and wait type of guy, especially on a quiet calm day. Then stalk until I pop him.
On another note, I started squirrel hunt at a young age and still enjoy it very much now. As a result, I find that I can notice a squirrel anytime anywhere, esp in my back yard. Other people say they dont hear or see anything.

I move a lot, slowley. I'll stay in one spot a while if it looks/feels right. Cuttings, dropping acorns, etc.

I always stalk them unless I find a really good spot to sit and wait. I've got some good oak flats along the creek bed and those are great. I dont sit and wait too long though. A lot of the time I'll stalk until I hear one and then wait and see if they'll make their way toward me, if not I'll go to them.

I ride a horse and the dogs tree them for me.

We kind of move slowly over to where the dog is barking, and looking up. There he be in the fork of that there tree. Kind of take my time, get a good rest, and then go pick up my squirrel.

Stalking also gives you a good opportunity to scout for deer hunting.

Slowly move through the woods until I come to a squirrel hilton with fresh sign under it. I will wait there for a while.

My technique is a slow stalk with a twist. If you have a youngun make him walk about 20 yards ahead of you. When he goes by the squirrel will come around to your side of the tree. It is money till the kid figures out what is going on.
